ONLY for adults? razz

I'm soo jealous, the graphics look amazing. More like an animated movie than a video game but then again the last GTA game I played was San Andreas on the Playstation 2. San Andreas in my opinion is one of the best in the series even though the graphics aren't what they obviously are now. Gosh, I hope that my daddy gets a PS3 for christmas.

lol How old are you??

Sixteen...But I was playing it way before the acceptable age. XD Oh wells. lurking ^I don't like Vice City that much but I like that it's set in the 80's because the music is cool

GRAND THEFT IV disappointed the hell out of me, to the point of selling that overrated shit in a second-hand store

installing it was a miserable experience (multiple online activations, multiple sub-programs, like that silly ass GTA Cafe shit, multiple passwords, etc), and the game ran like crap (I was forced to use the low settings) even with a 2011 computer/card (the game is from late-2008)...PATHETIC/INTOLERABLE pc conversion...I own a PS3 (first console I've ever bought) but I like to play GTA on pc (more freedom, abbility to use mods, etc)

worse, the story was crap (uninteresting, often depressing, ill-paced, and more misogynistic than ever, unlike San Andreas) the protagonist was boring and greasy (a far cry from Tommy-Ray Liotta or CJ) and his balkanic accent fake and irritating,

and damn, where was the chainsaw? the car-tunning garage? the personal garages to build an army of cool cars? the jet-fighter? the army base? why was the city so small? why wasn't as epic as San Andreas? why not NYC plus the countryside, maybe a second city as well (Washington?)...

DISAPPOINTMENT

IV was basically III with 2008 graphics...NOT GOOD ENOUGH

AAAAAAND sith please...that 3rd/1st person shooter hybrid was CRAAAAAAAP !! Mass Effect and the New Resident Evils are good examples of a 3rd/1st person shooter hybrid, Gears of War is a great 3rd/1st person shooter hybrid, but damn, NOT GTA IV, I felt powerless, and the cover system was just...annoying, not helpful...

to me, this franchise ended after San Andreas, V should be one HELL OF AN EPIC-PEFECT game to revive my interest in the GTA world...but I'm not holding my breath...to begin with: L.A./SF again???? neutral why not something new and exciting, like a Texas-New Mexico-Mexico setting, or something outside the USA (about time) like Hong Kong, Tokyo, etc.

meh

by the way, Call of Duty is/was awesome, I know they're milking the cow with those MW2 and 3 and the Black Ops shit, but the WWII games plus the first MW were pitch-perfect

I love GTA IV but I´ve heard that it really sucks to play it on a computer...very glitchy, very slow and too difficult to install. But I love playing it on the Xbox360.

I´m not really too keen on playing games on a computer anyway, and I´m not really into modding stuff, I´m just oldschool like that. lol

I do agree with you about that fake and irritatin accent that Nico Belic has. It is neither an authentic Balkan accent nor is it an authentic Russian accent ( not that he is supposed to be Russian, anyway....Rockstar Games kept his ethnicity very vague and gave at least three different hints but he speaks Serbocroatian, is not really Serbian because Serbia doesn´t have a coast and Nico used to work on a boat etc. etc.).

But, with time, I just got used to his accent and happened to like it the longer I played it. But most of my friends hated that character and found him too greasy and not interesting enough.

I liked him a lot because I liked the whole idea of an eastern immigrant coming to America and living the American dream, or nightmare, and having to do what he had to do. I thought it was a nice story and not as over the top as San Andreas.

I liked San Andreas too, but I didn´t really finish it on my old Xbox, and when I got my new Xbox360 I started playing GTA IV and found it a bit difficult to go back to those early 2000s graphics of GTA San Andreas.

I wish they´d make remakes of Vice City and San Andreas, updated version with better graphics, like they updated Halo-Combat Evolved. That would be a great idea!

Another problem I had ( or still have) with San Andreas is that the controller settings are totally different from GTAIV...and I´ve gotten so used to playing with the new controller and new settings that I find it difficult to play San Andreas because the shooting and aiming keys are reversed. In GTA, you aim with the left trigger and shoot with the one on the right whereas in SA it´s the other way around, and you can´t change those settings.

Also, it sucks to play San Andreas on the 360 console because you can´t fully use the controller like you can use the old ones. It´s really difficult to play SA on the 360 with the new controller.

Do you have any idea how to change that? I´ve googled it but to no avail.

I´d love to finish San Andreas, preferrably on the Xbox360 because my old Xbox is prone to crashing and freezing.

Not sure what you mean when you say 3rd person/1st person hybrid.... I mean, San Andreas was the same, wasn´t it? Didn´t seem to bother you there. Or do you dislike that idea in general and prefer 1st person?

I think Texas-New Mexico-Mexico wouldn´t have been very exciting...I´m happy that they are taking the franchise to California again, this time with better graphics and an up to date game.

Can´t wait to play this.

I´ve never played Call of Duty...not really into war games. But which one is, in your opinion, the best one?

By the way, many people raved about Fallout 3 and called it a masterpiece but I found it really depressing and just plain terrible and brought it back to the store...didn´t get a refund and had to take that GTA knock off Saints Row part I and II....and have never really played them either....just didn´t grab my attention, plus the gameplay sucked.

I really love GTA IV and the whole trilogy ( Ballad of Gay Tony/+ TLAD, though TLAD is a bit too dark for my taste).

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

I love GTA IV but I´ve heard that it really sucks to play it on a computer...very glitchy, very slow and too difficult to install.

It's no secret that Rockstar ABSOLUTELY HATES hackers, piracy and everything surrounding it, but damn, they went too far, I felt like a potential criminal when I installed the game...talk about wasting THREE hours doing something that could have been done in 30 min...

But I love playing it on the Xbox360.

I´m not really too keen on playing games on a computer anyway, and I´m not really into modding stuff, I´m just oldschool like that. lol

I love to play GTA on the pc, as I've said, the modding community always comes up with something amazing, new skins, new cars, etc, plus I like to cheat, especially when it comes to those "lemon-impossible" missions, lol

I do agree with you about that fake and irritatin accent that Nico Belic has. It is neither an authentic Balkan accent nor is it an authentic Russian accent ( not that he is supposed to be Russian, anyway....Rockstar Games kept his ethnicity very vague and gave at least three different hints but he speaks Serbocroatian, is not really Serbian because Serbia doesn´t have a coast and Nico used to work on a boat etc. etc.).

I like San Andres because yes, IT IS a cartoonish/videogame-like story full of madcap humor, but still with some gravitas and realistic touches; IV was just a down-to-earth/realistic story which wasn't very interesting shrug seems that V will be more over-the-top

That would be a great idea!

they won't, I mean, they're gonna release a nw game with better graphics set in Los Santos, but San Andreas won't get a remake

I´d love to finish San Andreas, preferrably on the Xbox360 because my old Xbox is prone to crashing and freezing.

don't know about that, lol, I've always played GTA with a mouse/keyboard, but believe me: there's nothing more miserable/frustrating that playin' GTA IV with a mouse/computer neutral lol

Not sure what you mean when you say 3rd person/1st person hybrid.... I mean, San Andreas was the same, wasn´t it? Didn´t seem to bother you there. Or do you dislike that idea in general and prefer 1st person?

nah I meant that now GTA is just another of those "over-the-shoulder + cover" shooters, I don't think that worked with GTA IV, but I'm on the minority...I just prefer the good old pure 3rd person + snipper mode...

I think Texas-New Mexico-Mexico wouldn´t have been very exciting...

a redneck/corrupt/racist sheriff as the main villian ? or maybe a corrupt FBI officer? a Salma Hayek-like love interest? cool Danny Trejo-like sidekicks? blonde big-titted dumb bitch*s (sorry for that) with cowboys hats, boots and all? perhaps a story of human/drug trafficking with a not-that-evil thug trapped in the middle of it all and forced to take a path? lots of desert areas to mess around with the Sanchez bike? perhaps the cities of San Antonio-Ciudad Juarez-Mexico D.F.? what's not to love there? cool cool

I´m happy that they are taking the franchise to California again, this time with better graphics and an up to date game.

Can´t wait to play this.

If it HAD to be a "done before" city, I'd have preferred Vice City again with top-notch graphics...

I´ve never played Call of Duty...not really into war games. But which one is, in your opinion, the best one?

If someday you decide to play that franchise, I recommend CoD 2 (more than decent 2005 graphics, wicked missions in Normandy and Egypt), the first Modern Warfare (a modern classic) and World at War if you're into the Pacific/Eastern theaters of the war (you know, the japanese, Stalingrad, etc)

Fallout is for NERDS nod LOL, even more nerdy than Half-Life 2

I really love GTA IV and the whole trilogy ( Ballad of Gay Tony/+ TLAD, though TLAD is a bit too dark for my taste).

I almost bought GT/TLAD but once I remembered the miserable installation and the horrible gameplay I said "nah"

hopefully I'll like V better, but I'll read the pc reviews FIRST confused lol

Rockstar wanted to go in another direction with the GTA IV era - less over-the-top and more 'realistic' than the GTA III era games. I'm a GTAmaniac, so either approach is cool with me.
