I googled it. I think I posted the link here... scroll up to make sure just in case though. He was supposed to do another show but I don't know if he made it to that one either. The emcee at the show kept saying Katt was here and then around 11 said he had been holed up by police but he was on his way and people walked out. They had been booing halfway through the show.

here's the article from the Seattle Times
Katt Williams a no-show at Seattle's Paramount Theatre
http://seattletimes.com/h...=head_main After a string of aborted performances and police run-ins, comedian Katt Williams was a no-show Thursday night at the Paramount Theatre. It was to be the first performance of a two-night engagement. Thursday ticket holders will be refunded at their point of purchase, or by calling the Seattle Theatre Group's box office.. A short review of Thursday evening/night: If you've never experienced it, a packed theater with 100% angry customers has a very specific energy. Confusion and anger. What's going on? How much did we pay for this again? (Tickets were $45-55.) From 8:30 pm, Katt Williams' large amount of opening acts got progressively weirder and more annoying, peaking with John Witherspoon from "Friday" and "Boondocks," plummeting with a few rappers, one of whom was holding a Bible and literally thumping it. According to the emcee Katt was "in the building." Then a few hours later he was "stopped by police but he's on his way." Which statement was untrue? Both? Neither? After 11:00 pm people started leaving. Two quotes I heard in the lobby: "I drove here from from hella far and paid hella money. This sucks." "I got my ticket for free and I'm still pissed." Searching twitter for "katt williams seattle" gives an indication of how fans reacted. Unhappily, to say the least. I would recommend that we remain compassionate to Williams, who is clearly going through something right now, and be mindful that we don't know all the facts. But it sure is disappointing when you rearrange your life for a late show on a school night, and the whole thing falls apart.
isn't there any one of his fellow comedians willing to step in to help this guy? where is katt's family? is anyone barring them from seeing Katt? i almost feel like he is being held hostage by *someone continuing to fill his brain and body with drugs. isn't "no" used in his entorage's vocabularies? seems almost and close to a "amy winehouse"(with all due respect) type of melt-down. i do hope Mr. Katt Williams will stand up and also get his mind cleared up and freed. NOW!
(i'd be almost willing to bet that that *big guy is still dominating katt's situation. ) [ ] | | - - and imo katt is (seemingly) fearful to his situation and also of losing his comedic public persona and all else, so he feels stuck. as a result he's letting his self drown, and no one seems to be throwing him some sort of (intervention-type) life line.
hey, i know my smileys are dramatic and a bit over the top here, but katt's situation is more than dramatic. for me, it's the darkest comedy i've ever witnessed. Jesus... apparently the first night Katt was in his trailer behind the stage "too fucked up to go onstage" so he was at the show, just not onstage.

Dayum...got a ticket for free and still pissed off...that's some major disappointment.
So true and I agree...but we also must remember that folks who are suffering from addictions or around bad influences are hard to help. Basically, they have to help themselves once they finally "see the light" and WANT TO BE HELPED. The sad thing about all of this is that none of us really know what the hell is going on. Is there a mental issue, a drug issue, an alcohol issue, an enabler issue, or all of the above?
In the meanwhile, he's burning major bridges, losing fans and killing his career (and basically killing himself in the process). I just hope he does a Dave Chappelle, disappear for a while, realize who is and isn't behind him, regroup and then come back to his career on his terms. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

It doesn't help when your friends basically joke about you getting high on cocaine as soon as they escort you out... I keep thinking he gets high on weed, alcohol and cocaine and then gets on the stage so high, stoned and whatever that not only can he not do his show but he uses people's hard earned money to talk shit about him. I'm surprised he still has a semblance of a career. Definitely someone who strikes me as mentally disturbed. Apparently Katt had had problems for years and the reason he wasn't as popular when he started was he was high on drugs and alcohol even and having mental issues then. I keep thinking Katt probably had a traumatic childhood and he never fully recovered from it. And it's probably shown during his recent concert breakdowns. Also, why is he doing these shows? He probably needs constant money, first maybe to buy drugs and second maybe to pay off whatever lawsuit he may have and he seems to not care. Now Sacramento may bring evading charges against him after that speed chase. [Edited 12/1/12 18:01pm]

I'm surprised he has a career on the account of being a weak comedian. But I hope he pulls through.

Lots of folks used to stop coming to his shows years ago because he kept repeating the same jokes that he was always telling. And I remember he lashed out during one performance because of it. He has been on a downward spiral since 2008.

Hell, this missed scheduled show is a lawsuit in itself...might as well add it to the list. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

And someone may sue him for the second because he allegedly hit someone in the head with his microphone.

So true. Once the hit their "rock bottom" they will either choose recovery or die trying. Until then, there is very little the people around an addict can to do keep them from using; those who challenge their behaviors can easily be replaced with new people who will always say "yes" who are more than willing to just go along for the ride.
I was watching a you tube vlog from 4itsrox and she brought up the same idea that he could have a mental issue, like Maia Campbell, and that it's exacerbated by drugs. It's plausible to me only because many comics are about 2 steps from crazy (their pain is the wellspring from which they draw and fuel their art into stand-up comedy), but some are simply better at riding it out into something positive and balanced success than others. With the drug thing, I been around enough alcoholics and rich pill poppers to know that ain't what he's struggling with, the trainwreck we're witnessing is chemical induced from something else. Now we know how much he loves his weed, but with his level of paranoia an erratic behaviors & mannerisms...either stimulants or hallucinagenics are involved. All that sweating and being hot all the damn time? Typical coke behavior (possibly even crack cocaine), either that or his weed is laced with something very ugly.

Just keeps getting better ... or worse for him.
http://www.inquisitr.com/...art-video/
The Katt Williams slap just adds another piece to the strange saga. As previously reported by The Inquisitr, Katt Williams led police officers on a merry chase through Sacramento driving a three-wheeled motorcycle. Police officers eventually called off the chase, fearing for public safety. But then apparently Katt Williams entered a Target retail store, only to slap an employee and escape on an electric cart. The reason for the Katt Williams slap is not yet known, but since when did Katt Williams need a reason to do anything these days? Katt Williams has tore off his clothes in public, initiated fights with audiences, pulled guns on actors, and started night club brawls. And that’s probably just the stuff that has made the news! According to TMZ, the Katt Williams slap was precipitated by an argument with a Target employee at the cash register. The Target security feed video has no audio, so we can’t tell what the argument is about, but if you watch the video it appears the Target employee was not looking for a fight with Katt Williams. Unlike many security video feeds, the Katt Williams slap Target security video is in full color and is amazingly fluid. There is no time lag in-between frames so we can see the action in all its un-glory. The Katt Williams slap comes out of nowhere. Fortunately, this did not lead to a fight. The Target employee keeps his calm, pulls out his cell phone, and calls the police. The Katt Williams slap is not the most bizarre part of this episode. Following the slap, Katt Williams hangs around for a while before making his getaway…escaping with an electric cart! According to sources at the Target store, Katt Williams ditches the electric cart for his three-wheeled motorcycle before police could arrive. Katt Williams was not arrested for the incident and the Yolo County DA’s office says the Katt Williams slap case is currently under review with no charges yet being filed against the comedian. Him and Bill were of the same era though. Paul Mooney and Jim Brown (two of his closest friends) used to try and help in all the time till Jim finally got to him I believe around the time he set himself on fire.
But with Rich, unlike Katt, he was never goin' off the deep end by confronting others whether it be fellow comics with Katt or store employee's or fans/hecklers in the crowd. The only time he did something that involved another person is when he shot his car up with his ex-wife.
You'd never see him in a beef with his peers like say, Stu Gilliam or Flip Wilson like Katt has been involved in. Not sure if he ever used to no show dates or have meltdown's on stage (besides that one night when he found himself after tryin to be Bill Cosby for a few years.)
Richard made sure whatever he did, it was just gonna effect himself and not get involved with others. PRINCE: Always and Forever

And the one thing about Richard was he was always open about whatever problems he had. He admitted more than a few times in his comedy routines about his drug addiction. Katt though has been in constant denial.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Right...but my point in bringing that up was to say that if Bill didn't reach out to Richard back in the day why in the world would he reach out to Katt Williams? Especially being that, talent wise, Katt Williams is small potatoes compared to Richard. Remember, Bill is the same man that called Eddie up and told him he need to tone down his shows. So one could only imagine what Bill really thinks of someone like Katt Williams. [Edited 12/2/12 17:43pm] I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
