It got some pretty decent reviews overall, but I wouldn't say it was on par of the level of Schindler's List, Forrest Gump, The Lord of the Rings trilogy, or even The Social Network which came out around the same time as this movie. But it was a pretty good teen-oriented movie, though not quite as good as Juno.

I Liked it. Wasn't it supose to be based on a shakespear play? But I think Dan Byrd is such a cutie.

My bad it was based on The Scarlet Letter. smile

^Well I believe it came out bou the same time that another teen flick was released that was based on Shakespeare, but I can't remember what it was called. Shakespeare gets bastardized all the time when it comes to teen flick movies. biggrin

I love this movie. It's not deep, but it's funny to me.

yeah, there are tons. all the classics get recylced into high school, regardless of which author: clueless (emma), cruel intentions (dangerous liasons), lysistrata jones (lysistrata), tons of romeo and juliets, tons of pygmalians, and so on

Based on the strong reviews, I started to watch it a month or so back. I didn't make it past 15 minute mark - not that I thought it was terrible or un-watchable...just not for my tastes.

I really liked it too. I'm not ashamed to say I like it either.....unlike some of you [out of the blue-just because someone else doesn't like it-all of a sudden] embarrassed mofo's. lol

I thought Emma Stone was pretty good in this movie. She's having the career that Lindsay Lohan COULD have had.

Amanda Bynes was good as well.

She can get steady work if she keeps her act together. (she's been acting as of late)

Yeah...What happened to Amanda? She (and Miley Cyrus) are outdoing Britney on the craziness scale. Too much, too young, too soon I guess.

That movie kinda made me hate Emma Stone. Just way too fucking annoyingly clever for her own good. Her family too.

Really liked her in The House Bunny though.
