Try darkness.
ONE THING that I discovered about living with no power is that by 8:30/9:00pm I was ready to go to sleep. Usually I'm up until midnight or 1:00am. However, without TV or computers or lighting throughout...my body began to get sleepy really early. My kids too.

A call from my school district saying there will be no school today...
After a week of a jacked-up weather, power outages, and gas issues, we were hit with a significant amount of snow last night.
The NJEA Convention was cancelled because of storm damage, but a lot of my coworkers already had plans for this week... Now with the recent weather, a lot of people won't come today.
Those of us who live close to the school will just end up babysitting and covering for the rest. There won't be real "education" going on today...
