Very funny. I just didn't know about the moon affecting the high tide or forgot about it. That's all. [Edited 10/30/12 9:24am]

The storm's in PA but I guess since its lost its baroclinic pressure, there's probably no sense to keep documenting it.

Out of the people who actually showed at all yesterday, 3 were picked up by relatives with SUVs and 2 took their chances on the roads, but left early.
Bright side to this is that my boss told me I could have tomorrow off! If you will, so will I

Here in NYC it was pretty clear to most people that if you didn't get to where you wanted to be for the next few days before the public transit shutdown, you'd be stuck where you were for awhile.

I hope your day off isn't spent at work!

It's a clinical lab, so we never want to let any patient specimens go bad if it can be prevented.

Sandy leaves 33 dead in US, up to 8.1 million without powerReuters: Adam Hunger. Image: A rescue worker carries a boy on his back as emergency personnel rescue residents from flood waters brought on by Hurricane Sandy in Little Ferry, New Jersey
41 min ago By MSN News with wire reports Superstorm Sandy left millions in the Northeast without power or mass transit this morning. President Obama has declared a major disaster area in New York and Long Island.
NEW YORK — Millions of people from Maine to the Carolinas awoke Tuesday without electricity, and an eerily quiet New York City was all but closed off by car, train and air as superstorm Sandy steamed inland, still delivering punishing wind and rain. The U.S. death toll climbed to 33, many of the victims killed by falling trees. The full extent of the damage in New Jersey, where the storm roared ashore Monday night with hurricane force, was unclear. Police and fire officials, some with their own departments flooded, fanned out to rescue hundreds. "We are in the midst of urban search and rescue. Our teams are moving as fast as they can," Gov. Chris Christie said. "The devastation on the Jersey Shore is some of the worst we've ever seen. The cost of the storm is incalculable at this point." The sudden middle-of-the-night flooding of two New Jersey towns was the result of a tidal surge that sent water overflowing a natural berm. The governor says the surge hit the Hackensack River. He says hundreds of people have been rescued from the low-lying towns of Moonachie and Little Ferry. As many as 8.1 million people across the East were without power. Airlines canceled more than 15,000 flights around the world, and it could be days before the mess is untangled and passengers can get where they're going. The storm also put the White House campaign on hold just a week before Election Day. President Barack Obama canceled a third straight day of campaigning, scratching events scheduled for Wednesday in swing state Ohio, which got clobbered by Sandy's winds as the storm pushed west. In W. Virginia, a blizzard generated by Sandy is has dropped almost two feet of snow on some areas and is expected to intensify before it gets better, The Weather Channel reported. New York was among the hardest hit, with its financial heart closed for a second day and seawater cascading into the still-gaping construction pit at the World Trade Center. The storm caused the worst damage in the 108-year history of New York's extensive subway system, according to Joseph Lhota, the chairman of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority. Mayor Michael Bloomberg said it could be four or five days before service is restored. "This will be one for the record books," said John Miksad, senior vice president for electric operations at Consolidated Edison, which had more than 670,000 customers without power in and around New York City. http://t.news.msn.com/us/...hout-power

My office is in Chelsea near where you live I believe. I may not be able to get back to work until Friday at the earliest it looks like because of the flooded subway tunnels. I'm wondering if my office building even has power right now.

Folks are coming from all over the country to help get power back on. Just a while ago, someone I know who works with the Electric company here just left with a group head out east.
