Idea for new Star Wars animated series

I know there a few Star Wars fans on here and I was a huge fan of the original trilogy as a kid. Wouldn't a series based on the further adventures of Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca and so on be a huge hit? The Clone Wars is pretty popular, I don't see why this wouldn't be even bigger with fans of the original characters having interest in it. It could be based on what is happening after the fall of the Empire and it start up new villians trying to replace Vader and add in new bounty hunters I think it would kick ass! So what do you other SW fans think? It was just something that came to me watching a commercial for Clone Wars DVD release.

I've always thought the Adventures of Han Solo & Chewbacca would be really killer. Them doing shady business with Jabba and going on spice smuggling missions and doing the Kessel Run and shit. Avoiding Imperial Entanglement and kicking ass in the 'Falcon.

I really think that would be a great series.

yeahthat

They could/should do a made-for-TV animated movie based on "The Courtship of Princess Leia" to explain how Han & Leia truly fell in love & married...then fast-forward to the Yuuzhan Vong invasion so people aren't going "Huh?" since their 3 kids have such prominent roles.

I was actually going to send GLucas a suggestion that he have some of the novels done like the 1st series that follows Star War Return of the Jedi:The Thrawn Trilogy

Any of these below would be really good animated series

Darth Maul: Saboteur

Darth Maul: Shadow Hunter

Star Wars Republic Commando: Hard Contact (2004),

Star Wars Omega Squad: Targets (2005),

Star Wars Republic Commando: Triple Zero (2006),

Star Wars Republic Commando: Odds (2006),

Star Wars Republic Commando: True Colors (2007),

Star Wars Republic Commando: Order 66 (2008),

Star Wars Imperial Commando: 501st (2009),

MedStar I: Battle Surgeons (2004),

MedStar II: Jedi Healer (2004),

Yoda: Dark Rendezvous

Splinter of the Mind's Eye (1978),

I, Jedi

Tatooine Ghost

Children of the Jedi

Darksaber

Planet of Twilight

the Crystal Star

The Courtship of Princess Leia

The Dark Nest Trilogy

If you want to go retro, then yeah that would be cool, show Han's past with the Empire and how he freed Chewbacca & developed that lifelong bond. Then go into the adventures!

The Dark Nest trilogy could be cool...but again you need to introduce the public to the kids beforehand. Maybe preface with The Crystal Star?

fans of SW usually have more interesting ideas than the real/official products that have appeared since the Phantom Menace

look at the Expanded Universe; other than Revenge of the Sith, fans prefer the Old Republic stories/videogames or the novels/comics set after Return of the Jedi

when Lucas personally greenlights/participates in a SW project, it usually SUCKS (Force Unleashed, Clone Wars tv series, etc)

True, one reason I picked most of those above post RotJ is that they deal with Leia and her Force sensitivity, the Dark Nest is when she finally decides to become a Jedi

True, actually The Thrawn trilogy would set it up good because she had the twins by the end of this one right?

That's the subject of not quite the first expanded universe books.

I thought they were born sometime in the Thrawn trilogy

Because the dark Jedi was tell Luke that he would train them and Leia

and Thrawn was trying to kidnap them for Cyboth

but they had them somewhere with Leias aid Winter

You should be able to find them in recent print

Lucus had them put into 1 book all 3 along with Landos series in 1 book

If they do a live action Han Solo series, they need to hire this guy.

Yes, but the target audience for animated shows is children. The Clone Wars performs good enough by Cartoon Network standards, but isn't a major hit. And that's about as mainstream as you can get with a Star Wars cartoon.

Shocked that there's so many orgers who've read NJO, DN, TTT etc... eek

I hear they are planning a conclusion to the Imperial Commando storyline. and are you serious at the last four? biggrin I love even a bad SW novel as long as it's not boring, but still.

I want a LIVE action series with the original cast. hmph! No animation. I realize their current ages would have to fast forwrd the story a bit, but that's ok since most die hard fans already know the gist of all that happens.

I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Yeah he could do some tv series, I would love to see Luke fighting with the force with the technology to make him do things the Jedi do in the 1st 3 movies

And I want to see Leia as a Jedi

not Darksaber

but the Children of the Jedi(featuring another Emperors Hand) and it shows a lot of Force sensitivity and Force vision connected with Leia

Planet of Twilight another featuring Leia and the Force, and seeing a force sensitive(ex Jedi) Hutt

the Crystal Star another dealing with Leia and the force and her discovery of an ex pupil of Darth Vaders (2 actually)

I like the comics and books dealing with the 'Jedi purge' period or should I say Jedis on the run

I hope he takes those to animated or live shows
