I was sent another version of this through email last week
and it had me mesmerized for about 30 seconds, then it

However, I forwarded it to a rather daft friend of mine and
he was so impressed that he's still sending it to other

With any number you pick, you always end up with 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, 63, 72, 81 or 90.

In the chart, these numbers have the same symbol. So it always is that symbol.
Example:

Pick 23, add both digits: 5. Substract from original is 18.

Pick 48, add both digits: 12. Substract from original is 36.
