I thought this little film could get some interesting discussions.. btw just a warning it's pretty gory & has some bizzare & some would say very disturbing images.

Anywho for those who eventually watch this(or have seen) Begotten, i want to know what you think?

the film which is basically about.. God kill himself with a straight razor, Mother Earth is born from his body who then jerks him off. Eventually Flesh on Bone (aka Jesus aka Seizure Man) arrives and the rest is the retelling of the rise and fall of Christ.

Do you think the is art? just sick? stupid? disturbing? beautiful?

I think it's a mix of all that... but my biggest complaint is this essentially a half an hour short film... made longer. And sometimes the long pandering shots make me go ok move on now.

Anywho the film is interesting... it's worth a look:P Marilyn Manson also used some of the footage for one of his music videos.

At least it's not silly crap like Human Centipede or A Serpian Film

My Internet browsers been having problems with Flash so i can't view the videos you posted.

A couple months ago i did get a chance to watch Begotten but the copy was hella white washed(too bright)so i didn't get a clear view of the gory stuff. The scenes i could half way make out were pretty crazy. In the beginning when the God figure was slashing his stomach open and pulling out his intestines.............crazy stuff. The overall atmosphere of the movie is somewhat disturbing but seriously creepy and being filmed in black and white made it even more so. As far as it's artistic merit. I thought the imagery and the bizarre sound effects were artful but without any dialogue the movie was too long and somewhat boring. I would recommend it to someone that's into bizarre art house stuff though.
