I drive home from work every day through Sherwood forest in the autumn and winter, it's starting to look amazing, especially if the sun's out and just about going down....

I love fall because I'm a fall baby. I love how beautiful it is outside with the leaves changing, Halloween and Thanksgiving coming and I love that it's not too cold or not too hot...however, the thing that irritates me about fall is when the days get shorter. Urgh. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

The state fair. It always comes the first two weeks of October and every time it comes, that seems to be the first time we notice the weather getting cooler. Even sometimes in late September when we might get a rare cool day, we always say "The fair will be here soon, I feel that fair weather" and football fans say "that's football weather" but when you say "fair weather", everyone around here basically knows what you're talking about.
I haven't been to the fair in ages (hell, they're looking for the same thing I'm looking for....money ) but I used to love going back when I was growing up. The rides, the food, all those bright colored lights at night, the concerts, and the change to cool weather that always seems to occur when the fair comes. Andy is a four letter word.

Over the River and through the Wood" is a Thanksgiving song by Lydia Maria Child. Written originally as a poem, it appeared in her Flowers for Children, Volume 2, in 1844. The title of the poem is, "A Boy's Thanksgiving Day". It celebrates her childhood memories of visiting her Grandfather's House. Lydia Maria Child was a novelist, journalist, teacher, and wrote extensively about the need to eliminate slavery.
It is sometimes presented with lines about Christmas, rather than Thanksgiving. For instance, the line "Hurrah for Thanksgiving Day!" becomes "Hurrah for Christmas Day!". As a Christmas song, it has been recorded as "A Merry Christmas at Grandmother's".

Speaking of the fair, I used to have two Prince mirror prizes from the fair. I didn't have the one pictured above but I had a Purple Rain mirror that looked like the album cover and I also had a 1999 album cover mirror but it was red instead of purple. I had them all these years until I moved in 2010 and they got broken in the U Haul truck. Andy is a four letter word.

Speaking of fairs as Vainandy brought up, I'm a fan of those. I usually go to them every year but missed it this year. Our state fair is usually the last week in September through the first week of October. My birthday is the last day of September so going to the fair is something my parents used to take me too all the time as part of my birthday gift. I have a lot of great memories of going there. There are also many festivals in my city in the fall which is fun. I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Ohhhh, forgot something else...I love cooking in my Crock Pot in the fall. Something about making stews, soups and other yummy fall entrees in my Crock Pot. I love smelling the aroma all through my house as it's cooking for hours. Hmmmm... I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I knew I had a picture of my old mirrors around here somewhere. There's the 1999 mirror in red and obstructed by the view of the black cat is the Purple Rain mirror. That's also my old tabletop stereo I had at the time and to the left of it is just an old record player I kept next to it. I may have not had a component system and mixer back in those days but I was determined I was going to mix even if I had to rig something up. Andy is a four letter word.

Sounds like the fair comes to my state right after it packs up and leaves yours. My birthday is September 25th also so we're both in the same week. Andy is a four letter word.

Autumn or (fall in American English) is one of the four temperate seasons. Autumn marks the transition from summer into winter usually in September (Northern Hemisphere) or March (Southern Hemisphere) when the arrival of night becomes noticeably earlier.
