Joran van der Sloot to be a Dad Report: Imprisoned Dutch killer impregnates girl
AMSTERDAM (AP) — A newspaper said Monday that Joran van der Sloot, a Dutch man who is serving a 28-year-sentence for murdering a young Peruvian woman, has impregnated a woman while imprisoned in Lima.
The Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf cited Van der Sloot's lawyer Maximo Altez as saying the pregnancy is past its third month, and Van der Sloot himself as having confirmed the news in a telephone call on Saturday.
"A test has proved" the pregnancy, the paper quoted Van der Sloot as saying. The woman, identified by the paper only as "Leidi," was said to have become pregnant during an unsupervised visit with Van der Sloot. It was not clear whether that is allowed or possible under Peruvian prison rules.
He was convicted for the 2010 robbing and killing of Stephany Flores in a Lima hotel room after meeting her in a nearby casino. He is wanted by authorities in the U.S. for allegedly extorting money from the Holloway family on the promise of revealing the location of her body. He could resist extradition to the United States, where is wanted in the Holloway case, if he obtains Peruvian nationality. That would be a possibility if he becomes the father of a Peruvian child or if he marries a Peruvian citizen.
Van der Sloot is appealing his conviction.

Good question because if I was a woman, all the money in the world wouldn't convinced me to give this asshole a baby.

You would be surprised how many women fall in love with a guy like that

It doesn't say that anywhere. Not sure why people say that. Maybe because they find it too hard to understand someone is interested in him physically and emotionally?

Jorans story was all over the news in the Netherlands. And it's true, there's always women who love a bad guy. By the way, De Telegraaf is a real tabloid newspaper. Not saying their story is untrue, but they have a reputation of creating "sensational" news.

Good point. Didn't know about that. Does make you question things...

i'm thinking there is more to this than meets the eye. it's not impossible that one, single unsupervised 'visit' could have made the lucky lady preggers, however, the more likely scenario is this is a deliberate ruse for the slootster to gain citizenship and avoid extradition. more than likely there was a cup involved, and the later assistance of a doctor in creating that pregnancy.
what sort of future will the child have? poor dear

Deep inside, it makes me feel better to THINK that this woman is doing this out of financial necessity rather than a twisted sense of attachement to a murderous POS.

Then again, who's the say he really is the dad. She might have been pregnant already from someone else.
He's an eveil, lying, manipulative asshole and maybe he thinks he can use this in some way to his advantage.

Yeah, but the whole point is him trying to get Peruvian protection from extradition to the USA. I'm sure he knows that a simple DNA test can verify whether or not that baby is going to grant him that.
This is going to make one hell of a straight-to-video movie one day.

The thing about evil manipulators is that they are very skilled. He probably manipulated her into it, and she has no escape now, because her pregnancy is known worldwide. She's catholic and therefore under social and religious pressure not to abort.
It's sad that this child will be born just to serve his/her father's legal case.
I'm convinced evil narcisism is inhereted. Hope his kid will be saved from that side of his genes.

By spreading the news, Joran knowingly and probably intentionally, puts her in a position of social pressure to either marry him or be expelled as a social paria.
He exactly knows what he is doing.
Reminds me of how happy I am that I divorced my ex and got away fairly save.

Complete losers with nothing going on inside their heads fall for men like this.

I know. I'm just surprised at those who fall for the bullshit... like yesterday morning I saw some woman defending a guy who raped and killed a woman (though it took about 20 years to solve the case) because she believed his word that "he didn't rape her" due to him being "a gentleman" or whatever. I understand that not all killers are one-sided but that don't excuse what they did...
