I must admit after Quantum Of Solace I was ready for giving up on Bond but with Sam Mendes getting involved and Javier Bardem being cast as the baddie I quickly changed my mind.

booked tickets to go see it on Friday excited

Fuck the funk - it's time to ditch the worn-out Vegas horns fills, pick up the geee-tar and finally ROCK THE MUTHA-FUCKER!! He hinted at this on Chaos, now it's time to step up and fully DELIVER!!

well folks, I've seen it

it is NOT a masterpiece of moviemaking, it's "just" a GREAT Bond film: an engaging action/thriller movie with a solid story behind and strong performances

just as good as the good Bond films of the "modern" era (Living Daylights, GoldenEye, Casino Royale, etc)

If you like Bond you won't be disappointed at all wink

and be ready for a couple (or more) of NEAT TWISTS wink

I once thought she was too thin, but now I see Naomie Harris as hot, from head to toe.

Loved every minute of it. There is some beautiful cinematography in it.

And the opening scene morphing into Adele's James Bond song...loved it.

Daniel isn't that ripped any more...but he's sexy as hell.

I was never a Bond fan, only starting to get interested with D. Craig and think i enjoyed this one the most of all three of them. There was action, but not a lot of it. Just right.

Anyway, go and see it.

Roger Moore: Skyfall with Daniel Craig Is 'The Best, Best Bond of All'

11/10/2012 at 02:00 PM EST

Neither shaken, nor stirred. Just perennially cool.

While he'll no doubt be best remembered for the seven James Bond films he made from 1973 to 1985, Sir Roger Moore – he was knighted in 2003, for his humanitarian work on behalf of UNICEF – also wears many other labels proudly.

He was a young MGM star (opposite the then-equally young Elizabeth Taylor), a TV star and producer (The Saint), an author twice over (a 2008 autobiography, My Word Is My Bond, and the brand-new Bond on Bond: Reflections on 50 Years of James Bond Movies), and a word-class raconteur.

It was in those last two capacities that the London-born Sir Roger, a hale and hearty 85, spent time with PEOPLE in New York this week. Among the many opinions he shared were those on a certain movie franchise.

Here is some of what he had to say, along with a video clip (below) of his charming way of saying it.

It took how long to write Bond on Bond?
Six to eight months. Actually, Bond on Bond is my second book, and I'm glad to say that so far it seems to be received very gratefully, by the people I send it to for nothing. Writing it came about because the publishers over in England thought it would be a good idea, with 50 years of Bond coming up, to have a book about my opinions of Bond, which I've never given.

So, what's your opinion of the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall?

If I had not finished this book three or so months before it went to print, I would write another chapter, because I would have seen Skyfall, and having seen Skyfall, in my opinion it is the best, best Bond of all – and Daniel Craig, I am full of admiration for him.

It was my first Bond film and I enjoyed it very much. A little predictable but I'd give it 3.5 out of 4 stars.

It was ok. shrug

Very pretty visually, and the acting was superb.

The third act was a misfire, and the overall transition of Ms was awkward and unconvincing.

Not a bad flick, but not a Bond great either.

I haven't seen all of the Star Wars movies. Just the older ones. I've seen LOTR because I am in love with Viggo. love lol I have seen NONE of the Godfather movies. I despise mob movies. shrug

But I've seen every single Bond movie more than once. I love all of the Bonds...well maybe not George Lazenby as much as Sean, Roger, Timothy, Pierce, and Daniel...I am a real fan.

You're right, it's not a masterpiece among movies as a whole, but it's a great Bond movie. And if you love Bond movies, then you will thoroughly enjoy this one.

There were a lot of things, characters that had to be reestablished in this film, but I hope in the next one there will be a female character (the Bond girl) who is more integral to that particular story.

Craig is signed up for 2 more - he'll be 48 at least by the last one! Wonder if he'll be able to pull it off. I personally think hot men in their 40s are at their peak of sexiness, I always have.

Typo

I also thought the Bond girl should have had a more interesting part. As for Craig's age, Sean Connery was 53 in his last Bond film, and Roger Moore was freakin' 58 in A View to a Kill with Grace Jones!!! Pierce Brosnan did his last film at 49. And I think Craig is very fit for his age so who knows how long he will last. lol

I consider Craig's performance in Skyfall among the best-ever Bond outings. The film exceeds the hype.

fav character - Javier Bardem. Fantastic! At first, as a blonde I couldn't place him but it finally kicked in. Yep, I'll take him over Craig any day.

I did finally go see it.

shrug

I don't know what to say.

Was it bad? No. It was a good movie. But, I dunno, it wasn't a good BOND movie.

There's a certain amount of "schtick" that I expect from Bond movies. A bit of lighthearted British wit. And of course double-entendres.

Skyfall was dark and serious compared to the past (granted I never saw Quantum of Solace).

Is that a bad thing? Probably not.

But dammit, where was the exploding pens??? lol

I didn't like it.

The transition of 'M' was pathetic and unconvincing

The court scene was laughable

The plot abandoned itself half way through

The villian was ruined by the plot and never fully developed.

By the end it turned into a home alone movie.

I just found it boring and really wanted to leave by the end; really predictable and dull.
