Marvel Comics Thread II

I wanna start this sequel to the Marvel Comics thread with some breaking news

Stan Lee cancels several upcoming appearances due to "very serious circumstance"

The major comic book website, Comicbook.com, has reportedly received the word that Stan Lee has canceled several upcoming scheduled appearances at various events, including the Ohio Comic Con as well as the sold out Authors! Authors! series at Toledo-Lucas County that was to be held on September 27th. The following message, which carried a rather concerning tone, was sent out by the Wizard World promoters saying that "were informed by Stan Lee’s management that Stan would be unable to attend any upcoming appearances for the near future.”

The Authors! Authors! series is co-sponsored by the Toledo-Lucas County Public Library, who revealed that all they know about the cancellation is that it is due to "a very serious circumstance."

Stan Lee, who is often referred to as the father of the modern comic book industry, turns 90 this December and is responsible for helping to create some of the most beloved comic book characters in the industry, including Spider-Man, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four, Iron Man, and the Incredible Hulk.

Stan Lee Talks New YouTube Channel, Digital Comics at NYCC By Stephanie Mlot

Stan Lee carries one of the most recognizable names in the comic book industry. Now, the legendary Marvel artist is bringing his cast of characters, and then some, to the Web.
Stan Lee's World of Heroes YouTube channel provides a daily look at various aspects of the geek culture (including a couple of Stan-central shows), which he helped announce Saturday at New York Comic Con.
"We have different shows, each one completely different from the other," Lee said Saturday after hosting a panel showing off the new online offerings, which include the animated Bad Days, celebrity-studded Cocktails With Stan, and Adrianne Curry's Super Fans.
"It's something for everybody," he said. "They all have touches of humor, touches of excitement and glamour."
Though Lee admitted his lack of technology interest, he said he is aware of what is going on in the industry, and is happy to help produce a YouTube channel that focuses on the enthusiastic culture and stays "right up to the minute" with growing tech trends.
Still in its infancy, World of Heroes is poised to make a big splash, Lee said, citing the initial positive reaction from fans.
"I am very excited about it," he said. "And I'm very flattered that it's called Stan Lee's World of Heroes."
I had a chance to sit down with the pop culture icon during Comic Con to find out more about the programming, get his take on the changing climate of comics, and get a peek into Lee's personal tech world (hint: he still reads the newspaper in print).
