I'm slowly recovering from a need to wear only clothes/accessories from Banana Republic, Le Coq Sportif or Aldo. It was never a snobbish thing so much as an OCD thing: It just seemed "messy" to have any additional brands in my wardrobe.

Also, for years, all the linens in our house -- bed dressings, towels and wash clothes, window sheers -- have needed to be white. I just can't stomach the disorder of anything else. Last week, my daughter came home from a trip to Cleveland with -- shake -- a green towel she wants to use during gymnastics training. I hid my anxiety, but it took an entire evening for me to get it in check. Even now, when I think about it I keep telling myself, "She'll use it primarily out of the house." redface

I'm not as obsessive as you are, but I do like to be clean and neat with my appearance. I do wear a lot of Polo (primarily summer/spring wear) and Guess jeans, but I am not branded to either. I wear what I like and that can be a brand that is popular or not. I tend to stay away from the really popular trends. For instance in recent years past you couldn't find a button up dress shirt without it having some elaborate printing or word on it. I never bought one. whew (More power to those of the ORG that sport 'em-'Cuz I wont.)

And here I thought I was obsessive. :hmm2:Although, I do organize my clothes by color. I don't freak out if some one else doesn't do it (I don't care really), it just makes it easier for me.

In a weird way, I've found my fixation has actually saved me money. Because I often dislike what Banana Republic and Aldo have to offer at a given time, because Le Coq Sportif is difficult to find where I am, and because I generally refuse even to browse other brands, my spending on clothing and accessories has tapered over the years. smile I've tended to find pieces I look really sharp in and have taken better care of them over a longer term.

I also don't dig conspicuous words, patterns or logos. feeling ill Occasionally you'll see me rocking Le Coq Sportif's signature chicken. smile Otherwise I find myself routinely removing visible branding when I can do so without defacing a garment (the butt label on many of Banana Republic's chinos, for example). Somehow, though, it still sits better in my mind when a piece -- brand completely unknown to others -- is from a preferred maker. Odd, I think.

Yeah, not a big fan of logos. So, Polo can drive me bat sh*t crazy with that. Although, I don't mind the "little pony" on the polo shirt.

My work enables my obsessive neatfreak/search for perfection disorder.

Strangely enough it doesn't manifest itself in other things like my appearance or my house for example lurking

I run outside if it sounds like a big plane is flying over our house (I know that every morning QF94 from LA comes in at around 8am and it's an A380 so I'm listening out for it) on cloudy days they fly so LOW LOW LOW love jet

I went on a diet a week and a half ago and I'm not exactly obsessive, but I'm finding it EASY to stick to it. I give myself 10/10 every night. I wouldn't drink the almond milk I bought because it was sweetened eek

If I have something for sale on eBay I'm counting watchers till I'm blue in the face dead

You do that too? boxed

I cannot keep anything around that is not being used. I have to donate it to the the thrift store if it is something I know someone else can use.

I am the opposite of a hoarder!

Now that I have a toddler I am always trying to find someone to give his stuff to that he outgrows and has stopped playing with.

I love to recycle.

This isn't so much an obsession, but something I do that makes no sense:

When I go shopping, I barely try clothes on. I just pick up the size that I believe I'm at, pay for it, and be on my way. I don't try it on until I get home...sometimes I don't try on stuff until days after I've paid for it...and even in some cases, not until I have an event I want to wear it too. I try to avoid the latter and exam clothing I buy as soon as I get home because a few times, I've found that the salesperson has forgotten to remove the security tag. Anywho, after trying it on at home, if it doesn't fit, but I like it, I keep it until I lose enough pounds to get into it.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Lately, it's been beneficial, because I've been losing weight in the past year and as a result, clothes that I bought nearly 2-3 years ago, with tags still on them, I'm able to fit into now just like I bought them yesterday. cool It's like going shopping in your closet for clothes already paid for.

Another obsession I just thought about today...

When I get up in the morning, before I take my shower, I HAVE to make my bed. No exceptions. If I don't, when I step out of the shower and go into my bedroom with an unmade bed, I'm so irritated to the point where it nearly ruins my attitude for the whole day. Silly I know.

lol I've been doing this for years myself so I'm there with you. highfive My reason was because I don't like getting undressed and then dressed and then undressed and then dressed again while in public...makes my skin get this weird feeling. It's hard explain the feeling but I think it would be equivalent to the expression 'makes my skin crawl' - probably because I think about how many people have already tried it on before me boxed . I've gotten better over the years with this habit; but, I still do it from time to time.
