So,my Mom has opened a thrift store....

with her boyfriend. Her,and I had really gotten into going to storage auctions. We would go through everything, and anything extra special was put on Ebay, and the rest we would have a yard sale with.

Some of her neighbors had started complaining about the traffic,so she has now turned her yard sales into a thrift store.

We have had a few people complain about the pricing on the furniture items,so I thought I would get some opinions here.

We currently have a beautiful chaise lounge in the store. It is priced for $350,what do you think?

Far too expensive for a thrift store, and especially with that cover/pattern.

Well, I used to love the thrift store at Hyde Park (Tampa, Florida) because it had all of thise eccentric stuff once owned by rich artsy-fartsy types. I never saw anything over 200 dollars.

It also depends on the neighborhood the store is located in. If it's in a ritzy place, folks will be willing to pay more, but Hyde Park in Tampa (at least the section this store was in) is filled with wealthy folks. Wealthy folks like thrifts stores too, because they're fun and you can find really neat and interesting things there.

I think that's way overpriced.

Used furniture, especially out-of-date styles, really shouldn't be much more than 100 bucks.

It's a THRIFT store. "Thrift" means to not spend much. biggrin So people are going to come expecting very low prices. If she were specifically a used-furniture store, say, she might be able to get away with charging more. But a thrift shop? She's risking pricing herself out of customers.

Lots of luck to your mom, it sounds like an exciting endeavor! I love shopping in thrift stores.

I know where you can buy some chalk.
Quality stuff, too. None of that cheap crap that washes away after it rains.
It's kinda pricey, but once you try it, you will know where that extra money went.

Aren't you a darling. mushy

And thank you for specifying that it was the pic with the big breasts. lol

I started taking a steroid to raise my low blood pressure and help with the dysautonomia, and like most steroids, it's made me put on some weight. Most of it went to my tits!

It's what you make it.
