I'm sorry, but that's not dancing. It's impressive gymnastics, but it's not dancing.

It's what my gen called "popping"...so it's a form of dance. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

Wrong RodeoSchro! That's amazing dancing. 99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
He danced using much expression in his face and body... so fun!
| |

LOL, I am old! And that was kind of amazing but still, I wouldn't call it dancing.
Here is some dancing!

Lol......it is called INNOVATION. Just because u can't do it does not make it "not" dancing.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
There wasn't anything innovative about that. I've seen guys popping since the '70's.
Plus, what he was doing required no music, and he wasn't on any beat that I could tell. That's why I say it isn't dancing.
I respect it, and I sure couldn't ever do that on my best day, but it's not dancing.

Innovation? How old is pop locking?
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Lol.................that is about 25% pop locking.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
25% popping 55% robot 20% tutting
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
From what I saw, it was mostly pop locking. And I wasn't impressed with that tryout.

<----100% bored. | |

Well he was in the finals last night, has never been in the bottom 3 and will probably win it as Americas favourite dancer. Nigel hated on him a bit last night and said he wasnt gonna vote for him because his journey was too short

Watch the John Travolta video!
| |
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Good for him. Doesn't make what he did innovative.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Thanks Greg. | |

This was from last night!!

Have u ever heard of animation until he came along? (in the dance world)
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
I liked that a lot better!

It seems to me that if two mature people like Ivy and myself watched it, and immediately identified it as techniques from 20 - 30 years ago, then whatever he calls it today is fine, but it isn't new or innovative.
In other words, if you have to explain to us what was innovative about what we just watched, then it probably isn't innovative.

There a few million people who disagree with u. Peace. I'm going 2 enjoy more of the video.

Ok u win...................I still LOVE regardless of the label.

Sorry, didn't mean to win. I do think it's entertaining and at the end of the day, that's all that matters.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
YES.
See, it may not be "dance" in the way Travolta or Joe-blow will bust out on the dance floor...but it's the 21st century and people like Martha Graham have redefined what we consider as "dance".

That was enjoyable. But can he dance on the ceiling? (Starts around 2:00.)

That is just beyond cool.

Another video showing (in split screen) how they did it...
