that shit was huge in the 80s!

I'm thinking about getting this for my brother's family for Xmas this year. They drink WAY too much soda. This would cut down their soda calories considerably.

I saw one of these demonstrations of the Soadstream at a green energy fair, and I can say that the product actually works as advertised. Having said that, I would probably be wasting my money and time buying this product, because I would use it only a few times before just giving in and buying soda from my local supermnarket or Walmart/Target. I got a homemade potato chip maker as a Christmas present back in the 1990's, which was just a rebranded Salad Shooter, and while it made decent potato chips, it was too much of a hassle to fry them and season them when I could just open up a bag and start eating. It now sits in a storage box along with my home ice cream maker.

My Aunt has one and they do work and are very very tasty. Very fresh.

I bought this for my ex-boyfriend for his birthday last year, and he LOVES it. The soda it makes is really quite good. I like the grapfruit flavor a lot..Reminds me a little of Fresca, but it's less chemically.

Sure you could just mix soda water with a little juice, but it's a fun novelty/gifty item.
