I am 29, I'll be 30 next year. I do not have any children and I am single. The worst thing that anybody can say to me is: Why are you single? Your way too good looking to be single? Why dont you have kids? They act like you did something wrong, or your choose to be single without kids. Naw, I didnt choose this, things have just worked out like this.

I get really, really irritated with this too, I think it's stupid to put yourself through something you know you don't want, and selfish to have children if you truly don't want them though having them is a great thing too.

I totally understand 200%. I get the questions too. The "So have you met anyone new lately?", "Have you tried online dating?", "Any single guys at church or work?". Urgh. The attitude is that something is highly wrong with this picture if you are independent, no kids, good career and no boyfriend. I'm not desperate. If I was, I would had stayed with the worthless fucker I wasted 4 years of my 20's on. I always feel that when folks give the billion and one questions like this that in some way they resent the fact that I'm single with no kids and they aren't.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

I will be 35 next month, single with no kids. The biological clock has not started ticking yet but I'm not excited about approaching advanced maternal age either.

Whether renting or owning, if you can afford the rent or mortgage on your own independently then you are doing well. thumbs up!

Then what's wrong Cinny? hug You are doing fine.

I own a townhouse and pay a mortgage...sometimes I get a little sad because I have no one right now to share with it, BUT then most of the time I'm glad it's just me because at least I know when I leave the house if there are dishes in the sink, then I know I left them there. lol However at the end of the day, I'm proud that I'm able to hold down a mortgage by myself. If I was renting, I would feel the same way. Some folks our age haven't yet achieved this.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

Nah I just wish I could hold down a mortgage for a place with more space, and I can't see it happening without another person, which leads me to the "bein single still kinda sucks" logic.

But I hear you on them dishes in the sink highfive

Well I wouldn't look at it quite like that...and DON'T look at it like that. Shop around, if owning is really a major goal of yours, trust me, you can do it yourself. I'm not saying I haven't been in your position, but I'm just saying that you can do anything you can put your mind to without anyone else. When I signed the papers to have my townhouse built, and I was still living at home with my mom, I kept thinking to myself "do I know what I'm doing? do I know what I'm getting myself into? will I be able to handle it on my own? maybe I should have rented first."...I kept the faith and it happened. And mind you when I signed my contract, I was making $15K less a year than what I'm making now. It's a buyer's market, shop around...that is if owning is really what you want. Trust me, you can make your dream a reality. I'm a testimony to that...but's it all in your mindset.

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.
