Christian Bale Flies 4-Year-Old Cancer Patient and Family to Disneyland

This was so sweet. mushy

Bruna Nessif, eonline

Christian Bale may not save lives in reality, but the actor definitely tries to make a difference in the lives of his fans.

The Dark Knight Rises star flew 4-year-old leukemia patient Jayden Barber and his family out to California for lunch date at Disneyland's Club 33 earlier this week.

"Finally can share!!! Christian sent us to LA and we had lunch at Disney club 33 on wed," Barber's mother wrote with a picture of the two on her Lighting the Batsignal for Jayden Facebook page. "He and his family were so awesome and down to earth!!!"

Christian Bale also visited shooting victims in Colorado hospitals in July

Charlene Barber continued by sharing her family's experience with Bale at the Anaheim theme park, "The entire interaction was like old friends having lunch. Jayden did not get star struck but was well aware of who we were with!"

"They talked movies and super Heros an he was genuinely happy to hear about everything Jayden wanted to tell him. Christian, his wife and daughter are three of the most beautiful people we have ever met! Christian made these arrangements for us personally and ensured we were treated like royalty. I don't have even one negative thing to say about them. I can tell you that they were just as impressed w Jayden as Jayden was w them smile"

According to WYTV in Ohio , Barber was undergoing chemotherapy for bone cancer for two years before it turned into MDS leukemia last year. Jayden is now in remission.

Just a couple months ago, Bale was spotted in Colorado visiting shooting victims who were impacted by the Dark Knight Rises tragedy.

Thank you for posting this. All I knew about the guy before was that rant he did about the lighting guy. It's very nice to know that was an anomaly, and that he's a great guy.

You are welcome. Sometimes it helps to post things that people do that are positive. We hear about the negative nearly every second of the day. Stories like these make me smile. biggrin

Because he's the hero that we deserve, but not the one we need right now...and so we'll hunt him...because he can take it...because he's not a hero...he's a silent guardian, a watchful protector... Christian Bale. touched

Hopefully the Barber family won't repay Christian Bale by concocting a story that Christian was molesting Jayden after serving him Jesus Juice at Disneyland's Club 33.

He's not trolling. He's alluding to the fact that the last time a celebrity did something nice like this for a cancer patient and his family, he got accused of molesting and drugging the kid for the sole purpose of extorting money.

Well excuse me, but I had no idea what your comment was about and obviously I wasn't alone. I posted this article because it was positive, someone putting their needs aside to help someone else. It's a breath of fresh air to hear about positive news since it's so easy to post something negative with the quickness. When it comes to cancer patients, I take that seriously since I lost my father to cancer. So when your comment came off as sarcastic, I took it as such. Maybe you should had explained your comment further and then I wouldn't had taken as I did initially. A little explaining doesn't take but a few seconds. Just saying.

Okay, glad you caught on and understood his comment, however, he should had put this simple explanation with his comment so that others wouldn't had misunderstood. I haven't heard this story about "the last time a celebrity did this that they were accused of molestation" and I'm sure others haven't either, how else is someone supposed to know?

I'm sorry for the loss of your father, may he be resting peacefully.

Then I assumed, in error, that everyone was familiar with Michael Jackson's story.

Sorry I didn't catch on. I'm inclined to think that MJ wasn't the last celebrity to do something nice for a cancer patient. He was the farthest from my brain. Sorry.

I sincerely appreciate, and accept, your apology. When I first read the topic of your thread, the FIRST thing that struck me was what happened to Michael Jackson when he showed the same kindness to a young cancer patient and his family. Misunderstandings happen, but I have a ton of respect for you, and you and I will move on.

thumbs up!
