The Pro Wrestling Thread #9

Looks like we lost another thread, guys. Anyway, on to my boy, AW..... lol

A.W.'s Twitter Account Suspended After Disparaging WWE; Continues To Ridicule Linda McMahon

As A.W. predicted, his original Twitter account was suspended after the terminated WWE Superstar posted a multitude of messages disparaging his former employer and Vince McMahon's wife Linda McMahon. A.W., however, set up another account under his real name, Brian Jossie, at BJRatedR and has continued to sound off on the sports-entertainment organization as well as Linda.

Jossie believes WWE had his original account shut down, writing, "Yeah the #WWE shut down my old account. It's all good. It was fun while it lasted." When asked whether the account was his property, he responded, "Not really sure. Although when it comes to the #WWE they own everything like Satan, including your soul, lol!"

Jossie, who blames Linda and her ongoing U.S. Senate campaign for his termination from WWE, subsequently posted three images ridiculing the political hopeful. In the first pic, he posted a joke poster of Linda reading "UNSTOPPABLE"-a takeoff of the Barack Obama "Hope" poster. He then posted an unflattering photo of Linda, noting, "Is it me or does Linda McMahon make Hilary Clinton look like Angelina f--king Jolie!!" Jossie was also sent a side-by-side image of Linda and the Cryptkeeper and asked if he sees a resemblance. "Yep! CryptKeeper might have her beat," he wrote.

Jossie had also tweeted, "@Linda_McMahon has cost more negroes jobs than hurricane Katrina!!" However, he stated minutes later that he doesn't hate Linda and that he's merely joking around.

"I don't hate Linda, I'm doing what a comedian would do. Making light of a serious situation inorder to make people think!" Jossie wrote.

He then continued the Linda jokes, writing, "David Duke would hire my black ass before @Linda_McMahon!" He then added, "Sorry I won't be HANGING out at any #WWE shows. There's enough pro wrestling lynching as it is...."

In response to a fan comment stating, "It's pretty damn funny that @WWE actually thinks @Linda_McMahon has a chance at winning," Jossie responded, "Agreed, Them muthaf--kas are as high as Jeff Hardy!!!"

Jossie was also asked whether one needs to "play the game" in order to survive the political minefield of WWE. He responded, "Politics is a must. Everyone plays the GAME!! Some (Divas) more than others....#WinkWink #HHH."

A Twitter user sent Jossie a mock graphic proposing a Street Fight between himself and Vince McMahon at WrestleMania XXIX, to which he responded, "Ha! Yeah I'd whoop that old man's ass! I'd only do it if Shane and Steph joined in. #McMahonSmackdown!" He also noted "as soon as I see Vince on TV this Nike is gonna f--k my plasma up!!"

Jossie was also asked how WWE would have acted had he made a Mike Tyson rape joke rather than a Kobe Bryant one. "Nope I would have probably got a raise! #WhatThef--k?" he responded.

Finally, Jossie was asked whether he's calling out WWE for exposure, to be controversial or out of bitterness. "I'm just saying my peace. I wish more people would be like JTG and not be afraid to speak up. #Courage," he says.

Negative Reaction Among WWE Wrestlers To A.W.'s Firing; Could He Be Rehired?

Wrestler reaction to A.W.'s firing by WWE on Friday for what a company spokesman said was due to his continued use of offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media after making a rape joke on the July 30 episode of Raw is said to be as negative to any termination in a long time.

Upon learning of the news, A.W. posted a barrage of Twitter messages roasting the sports-entertainment organization for what he perceives are double standards, such as Big Show making a similar remark referencing NBA player Kobe Bryant's sexual assault case years ago and Vince McMahon reneging WWE's anti-bullying campaign on Raw weeks ago by ridiculing Jim Ross' affliction with Bell's palsy. Though it would appear that he is squashing any chance of a return to the organization with each scathing tweet, Wrestling Observer editor Dave Meltzer sees things otherwise.

He posted on our message board, "The more he says, the better his chances of being brought back in a while.

"Vince has no respect for people he bullies and don't fight back.

"He hired Bischoff, Bret (spent ten years begging for him to comeback and even brought him back after Bret walked out on him the day of Mania), Sable, Billy Graham, yet never touched Heenan except for one shots. I doubt even he knows it but he's playing it smart in the long run."

Monday in Pittsburgh..Q&A's updated..Random Thoughts

Mon, 08/13/2012 - 10:44am — J.R.

Hello from Pittsburgh. Been visiting family here. Excited about Raw tonight from Dallas. Jinz's ready? Let's go

random thoughts...

Expect The final Raw before Summerslam to to a hot one. HHH/ Lesnar issue has piqued my interest. WWE Title bout, too. Anxious to see how the build for the PPV unfolds. It's crunch time for all involved. It's nights like this that make me miss being at the announce table.

AW's release was unfortunate. He's a talented guy who made a costly mistake. One door closes another opens. I hope AW regroups and finds success. Speaking from experience, one has to put issues such as this behind them and move positively forward. I wish AW the best.

Same goes for Sofia who I really liked, too. Only advice I'd provide both talents is to move forward and depend on their skills and passion to find happiness and success. Life deals all of us challenging hands.

Im headed to LA later in the week for some THQ functions but am excited to be able to watch Summerslam in person. I think it will be a kick ass PPV.

JR's biz at WWEShop.com is growing daily. New website makes shopping & ordering easy. Remember BBQ sauce isn't seasonal.

Q&A's are updated. Diverse collection of questions. Longer blog Tuesday.

Boomer Sooner!

WWE's Eve Torres Talks Stars Earn Stripes and AJ as RAW's GM

The WWE Diva discusses the new NBC series. Plus, why she isn't thrilled with RAW's new GM.

by Eric Goldman

Debuting tonight on NBC, Stars Earns Stripes is a reality competition series in which a group of celebrities (including The Expendables’ Terry Crews, Lois and Clark’s Dean Cain and singer Nick Lachey) are paired with a special operative from a military branch or one of America’s first-responder forces, including former U.S. Army Delta Force and Green Berets, U.S. Navy SEALS, U.S. Marines and police officers, to train and to complete missions.

One of the participants is WWE’s Eve Torres, and I recently spoke to her about her time on the series and the tough challenges she took part in, which are inspired by real military exercises.

We also chatted a bit about recent events on WWE RAW, which have had an onscreen rival of Eve’s, AJ Lee, becoming general manager of the show.

IGN TV: What did you think when this opportunity came up?

Eve Torres: To be honest, I thought it had my name written all over it. First of all, my connection with the military. I’m a strong supporter of the military, and I’ve been overseas to support them and entertain the troops. So the fact that I could raise money for military charities was an awesome opportunity. On top of that, I was like, “Wait, I get to shoot guns, jump through helicopters and climb through mud?” I was a tomboy growing up. I love that kind of stuff. I don’t think I knew how difficult it was going to be. I definitely didn’t, but I was excited.

Eve Torres in Stars Earn Stripes

IGN: Did one of the missions jump out at you as the one where you were like, “Wow, how am I going to get through this?”

Eve: Every mission, there was a situation like that, literally. Probably one of my biggest fears is water. I grew up in Denver, and I didn’t have an ocean nearby. I never really learned how to swim that well. So anytime that water was involved I had an extreme mental block when it came to that, and I had to overcome it. A big part of that is trusting your operative, which is what a lot of this came down to -- trusting that they’re really going to give you the confidence to get through all of these missions together.

IGN: What was it like interacting with all of the military working on this show?

Eve: Those guys are incredible. I honestly thought they were going to come in and be extremely military and hardcore and mean and cold, you know? But they are the warmest, most amazing, funny, intelligent men. I mean, they’re people, and that’s what we sometimes forget, especially special ops guys. We think of them as these machines, but they’re not. They’re people with wives and kids and families. Just connecting with that side of things -- I think when America connects with them and puts a face and a name with who’s out there really protecting us -- I think it will be great.

IGN: Was there a healthy competition amongst all of you taking part in the show?

Eve: Oh, yeah. There’s extremely healthy competition. For one, we all became a family through this because some missions you’re working together with the other ops and celebrities in a team or squad. Then in other ones you’re competing against each other. So it was very healthy, but I don’t think there was a lot of backstabbing. Everyone wanted everyone to do well -- but not as well as you. [Laughs]

IGN: Moving over to WWE, I have to ask - What do you think of your new general manager?

Eve: I’m not impressed. I think she is not fit for the job, and I think you need a strong, intelligent, beautiful woman to have that job -- and that’s me. I have the experience, I have the expertise, I was executive administrator for many months and I should be the next one in that role. So I’m not okay with it, and we’ll go from there.

IGN: Well you had a very different dynamic with the previous general manager. Do you think, in weeks to come, we will be seeing some issues arising between you and AJ?

Eve: If I have anything to do with it. It’s not so much about her, it’s just about what I know I’m capable of doing. For me, it’s running the shows. It’s running both shows. Again, I just don’t see it going very well for her. I don’t think I even need to get my hands too dirty. I think she’s going to take care of this herself.

Eve vs. AJ on WWE RAW

IGN: A few weeks ago, RAW ended with you and AJ involved in a tag match [teaming with Daniel Bryan and CM Punk, respectively]. It’s been pointed out that it was notable that there were two female wrestlers in the RAW main event. Was that a cool moment for you?

Eve: It was an extremely cool moment. Not only was I in my hometown of Denver, Colorado, but there are is a very small number of women who have had that opportunity to main event RAW. To be one of those women was an honor for me, to be a part of that. It’s something that I can say that I’ve done and I’m very proud of.

IGN: A ton of classic WWE superstars were on RAW in the weeks leading up to the 1000th episode and then the 1000th episode itself. What’s it like when you have them backstage; some of the guys that we all grew up with?

Eve: Oh, it’s so awesome. Backstage, especially at RAW’s 1000th episode, I mean, everyone was there. It was just so fun to watch everyone interact, the old with the new, and have legends come in. It also reminded everyone where this all started and the history of WWE. It’s a big part of where we are today and the future of WWE and where it’s going.

Fired A.W. Rails WWE For Celebrating Mike Tyson, Mocking Jim Ross' Bell's Palsy Affliction

A.W. has continued to lambast WWE via Twitter after his contract was terminated Friday for what a company spokesman says was due to his continued use of offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media after making a rape joke on the July 30 episode of Raw.

The boisterous personality strongly feels his firing is unfair and that he is being subject to double standards by WWE, pointing out other offensive events where an employee was suspended at most. He wrote, "If I smoked crack or did steroids I'd get suspended but I made a joke and tweeted support Linda and I get fired. #Doesn'tAddUp #Hmmmmm."

A.W. posted several fan remarks noting WWE's double standards towards offensive and inappropriate comments, including Tensai making stereotypical remarks about Japanese people last week on Tout, John Cena cracking homophobic insults on WWE programming, Randy Orton suggesting during a radio interview that Kelly Kelly had sexual relations with upwards of ten WWE Superstars, and Cena and Jerry "The King" Lawler hurling weight-related barbs toward Vickie Guerrero.

"They didn't do s--t to Randy Orton when he called Kelly Kelly a slut, you see the double standard? f--k politics. #AWForLife."

"Im a HUGE Cena fan, but Cena made fat jokes w/ King, genitalia jokes n homo jokes. Orton bashes K2, Vince mocks JR! #f--kUWWE"

"so stealing a car, having a yng girl trying to f--k 3 guys at once and not to mntion the Tensai thing is ok, but no jokes? #BS"

A.W. continued to point out the hypocrisy in Vince McMahon mocking Jim Ross' affliction with Bell's palsy while simultaneously promoting the 'be a STAR' anti-bullying campaign; on the June 11 episode of Raw, the WWE Chairman donned a J.R.-style hat, mimicked Ross' facial paralysis and yelled, "Stone Cold! Stone Cold! Stone Cold!" He re-tweeted, "So Vince can continually bash @JRsBBQ by teasing his ball palsy but yet your comments where deemed worse? Be a star my ass." He then posted a photo of McMahon distorting his face to ridicule Ross, with the caption reading "MOCKING JR: QUALITY PG ENTERTAINMENT."

A.W. also pointed out McMahon using a racial slur on WWE programming in 2006, and enclosed a link to footage of the segment. He noted via re-tweet, "VINCE MCMAHON CAN SAY THE "N" WORD ON NATIONAL T.V. BUT @AWPromotions CAN'T TELL A JOKE.............whats wrong with this picture???"

A.W. also feels it's hypocritical that WWE would celebrate boxer Mike Tyson, who was convicted of rape in 1992 and sentenced to six years in prison. He re-tweeted, "You said one Kobe Bryant rape joke and you got fired. Isn't Mike Tyson a convicted rapist? Yet he is in the HoF. Hypocrisy." He then posted side-by-side images of himself and Tyson, with the caption over his photo reading "FIRED FROM WWE OVER RAPE JOKE" and a caption over the Tyson photo reading "CONVICTED RAPIST - WWE HALL OF FAMER."

A.W. plans to continue to "shoot" as he has set up a second Twitter account under his real name, Brian Jossie, at BJRatedR. He noted on the account, "Ladies and Gentlemen welcome to my f--king non PG world!!! Where all bets are off and I tell it like it is. f--k the Bull s--t, I'm legit!"

Controversial WWE figure: Pro-Linda Tweet got me fired

Neil Vigdor

Published 10:15 p.m., Monday, August 13, 2012

Brian Jossie won't be stumping for Linda McMahon.

On Friday, the McMahon family-run WWE terminated its contract with Jossie, a wrestler-manager who goes by the stage name A.W.

Jossie wound up in the WWE's doghouse after making an ill-advised Kobe Bryant rape joke during a live broadcast of "Monday Night Raw" on July 30.

The 34-year-old from Tampa, Fla., told Greenwich Time in a telephone interview Monday that it was a post from his Twitter account last Thursday telling his social media followers to support McMahon for Senate that ultimately led to his dismissal, however.

"#AWPromotion$ says vote for Linda McMahon!!! The PTP'z support Linda and so should you!"

Jossie ended his Tweet with the hashtag, #voteordie4Linda

"That's how they show support for their employees who want to support Linda. They fire them. That's complete bull(expletive)," Jossie told the newspaper.

WWE, which is based in Stamford, rejected Jossie's claims in a statement from company spokesman Brian Flinn to the newspaper.

"WWE is a non-partisan organization. Superstars as well as employees are free to support any political party or candidate they choose," Flinn wrote. "Unfortunately, Brian Jossie, playing the character of A.W., was terminated because he continued to exhibit poor judgment by making offensive and inappropriate comments on live television and on social media."

Jossie said he received a phone call Friday afternoon from Jane Geddes, a former LPGA golfer and vice president of talent relations of the WWE, telling him he committed a major faux pas with his Tweet.

"For some reason they don't want to associate her with anything to do with wrestling because it's in the past," Jossie said of McMahon, the company's former chief executive.

"Vince (McMahon) doesn't want any association with her campaign. They told me it's two totally different entities, which I didn't know. I thought I was doing a good thing."

A spokesman for Linda McMahon, who is favored to prevail in Tuesday's Republican Senate primary, had no comment.

Jossie expressed regret for likening wrestler Titus O'Neil to "Kobe Bryant at a hotel in Colorado" and calling him "unstoppable."

In 2003, the Los Angeles Lakers superstar was arrested and accused of sexual assault by a 19-year-old hotel employee in Eagle, Colo. The charges were later dropped after Bryant's accuser refused to testify.

"If I had made a Jerry Sandusky or a Colorado shooting joke, OK, fire me right there," Jossie said.

Jossie complained that he was never suspended or put on probation by the WWE, which he accused of pandering to voters and consumers out of political correctness.

He also accused the WWE of applying a double standard between him and Mike Tyson, who the conglomerate honored earlier this year.

"The WWE put a convicted rapist in the hall of fame," Jossie said.

Several hours after he was warned to cease his Twitter activity, Jossie said he was informed he was being released from his three-year contract with the WWE.

Jossie's Tweets didn't end there, however.

A.W., short for Abraham Obama Washington in a play on the names of the presidents, had a Twitter rant for McMahon and her campaign narrative as a job creator.

"Creates jobs my ass! I'm fired thanks to you and your campaign."

Shortly thereafter, Jossie's Twitter privileges were suspended.

Jossie acknowledged that he has never met Linda McMahon and started with the company around the same time as she turned over the CEO's reins to her husband.

"I don't hate the WWE. I love the company," Jossie said. "But the way the politics are with her campaign, it screwed me."

Talent Meeting Held Before RAW, Report On WWE Issuing New Payments From Recent Tour

- There was a talent meeting held before Monday's RAW in Dallas, Texas. Talents were given the chance to speak up about being unhappy and reportedly, nobody did. The meeting apparently ended with everyone being told to use common sense and be careful with social media.

- We noted before that some of the WWE midcard talents were upset about being paid just $500 per night for working the recent tour of Central and South America. The reason given by a source to us was that talents are usually paid more for international tours but this one wasn't as successful.

In an update, WWE officials sent out a memo to the talents who worked the tour and said there was a clerical error when payments were done. New, increased payments are to be issued to the talents soon.

Gold medal winner Kurt Angle talks pro wrestling, movies and Olympics

Professional wrestler Kurt Angle talks about his film career, professional wrestling and the Olympics. He will wrestle in Ottumwa, Iowa, Aug. 18 at the Bridge View Center.

Josh Rizzo/Sports Editor
Posted August 09. 2012 8:00PM

ORLANDO, Fla. - Professional wrestler Kurt Angle doesn’t mind performing on a slightly smaller stage even after 14 years in the business. Angle, who wrestles for Total Nonstop Action wrestling, in a lot of ways prefers the smaller crowds like the one he will wrestle in front of Aug. 18 at the Bridge View Center in Ottumwa, Iowa.

“In a lot of ways it’s better, they are more passionate and I get to meet a lot of them,” Angle said. “It’s more fan friendly, we take pictures in the ring and have more meet and greets. There’s a better opportunity for fans to get five to 10 autographs from each of the wrestlers.”

Angle, 43, signed with TNA in 2006 after wrestling with World Wrestling Entertainment for eight years, looking for a lighter workload.

But things changed soon after he signed with TNA.During his tenure with TNA, he has held the World Heavyweight title five times and was a six-time world champion in the WWE.

“At the beginning there wasn’t much of a difference,” Angle said. “I came down here with hopes of building the program, which TNA has done an amazing job of doing, but having a lighter schedule, and that didn’t occur for four or five years. It kind of blossomed after I got here and we went from doing 25 house shows to 125 and one hour on TV to two hours. With the timing of me coming in and what was going on, they needed me to be full-time. My new contract is part-time.”

The switch to part-time will help him transition to acting and other projects. Angle, who won the 100-kg freestyle gold medal at the 1995 World Championships and 1996 Olympics both in Atlanta, has been in contact with Team USA and would like to get involved after the 2012 Olympics wrap up.

Winning the gold medal in 1996 was a joyous and painful experience. Before each match he had 12 shots of Novocain injected because he was wrestling with a broken neck.

The shots got him through the matches, but he would feel excruciating pain an hour after the match.

“That was exhilarating [winning the gold medal],” Angle said. “I don’t remember a lot of it. I was really focused, I remember the opening ceremonies and standing on the podium and it was very emotional. I was happy, elated and felt a sense of relief after I won. It was something I wanted to do since I was 5 years old and my dream came true 22 years later. I felt a sense of relief, but also had a sense of depression because it was over. The training was atrocious, it was extremely hard, almost to the point of abuse. With the pressure that was on me to try and retain the Olympic and World Title over the next few years, I decide to walk away because I felt like I had done enough to leave my mark.”

Angle just finished filming “Pain and Gain”, due for release in 2013, with fellow wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and played a large role in “Warrior”, which was released in 2011, as a mixed martial arts fighter that. Warrior was filmed in his native Pittsburgh, which was a thrill for Angle.

“It was a lot of fun,” Angle said. “I was a little upset they took my speaking roles out. I had learned Russian for four months and they decided not to have me say anything because I would be more imposing. I was hoping they would show it on the outtakes on the DVD, but they didn’t do it. It was a lot of hard work, I had just finished filming ‘Dylan Dog: Dead of Night’. It was a busy year with TNA and both films. I had to go through a three-month camp and it was a pretty large project. They wanted me to be in MMA condition and learn the moves and make it look as real as they could.”

Angle believes that if MMA was more viable after he finished his amateur wrestling career, he would have gone into the sport instead of signing with World Wrestling Entertainment in 1998.

“I definitely would have went that direction,” Angle said. “The timing wasn’t right and the popularity and money was in pro wrestling. I’d say about five years after that the UFC started to bloom. I did have a couple meetings with [UFC President] Dana White and we didn’t come to terms. Dana was very fair to me and I respect him a lot. I don’t discuss those meetings a lot, but pro wrestling was a better choice when I first went into it. Had it been the other way around, I would have picked MMA.”

Kurt Angle Issues A Warning To CM Punk

During a Q&A at Comic-Con in Chicago this past weekend, WWE Champion CM Punk alluded to TNA being an independent organization. When asked which indy wrestler he'd like to see in WWE, Punk replied, "Samoa Joe." When someone noted that Joe worked for TNA, Punk said something to the effect of "Right, you said indy league didn't you?"

Those comments didn't sit too well with Kurt Angle, who issued this warning to Punk on his Twitter:

"Punk wants to Say Tna Is An Indy League? I Was On top in Wwe when You Were trying to Get a Job Anywhere. It Was My Choice to go to Tna. ... If I ever See You Punk, Hide b---h!"

Had it been the other way around, I would have picked MMA.”

oh lawd dwayne and angle in a movie 2gether? gee i guess this means DWAYNE'S run at the world heavyweight championship is as phoney as alex trying 2 deny he's not part of cenanation

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

^^ Okay, like they really expected to have people speak up. The talent knows that if they did speak up and complain about shit, they would get de-pushed even more than they already are or even ultimately fired.

They act like that shit's truly an open forum when it's nowhere close to it. disbelief

it's like they are looking 4 anything 2 get rid of anyone yet their programing can't go single 10 mins without saying "this tweet or trending or like us on facebook " type of shit. jtg speaks up and what's his reward? okay we'll put u on raw ..but u'll face ryback and ryback will win ..okay what's the point in that? read between the lines is all i'm saying and vince is notorious 4 that shit..

btw has r truth ever had his rematch for the WWE title yet? gee i wonder why not

Man, that shit is ding ding dead! LMAO!! Vince would probably say he's lucky to even have the tag title, which is really a way to appease people who say Vince doesn't have blacks as champions. Otunga had it, then Kofi and Evan, and now Kofi/Truth. disbelief

Linda Hogan Makes Ass of Herself in New 'MILF' Video

0813_linda_hogan_thong_launch

Hulk Hogan's ex-wife Linda Hogan let it all hang out in a new music video ... by flashing her behemoth badonkadonk in a thong and sheer dress type thing.

The 52-year-old blonde bombshell stars in hip hop artist Ricky Romance's latest video entitled "MILF" and does her best Coco impersonation by exposing all of her orange mother-of-two posterior loveliness.

Besides showing off all her God given talents, Linda did some serious method acting by making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches in full face and a horrendous animal print bikini.

Linda is now a video ho...gan.

Jake 'The Snake' Roberts Discusses Working With Savage, 'Taker, Warrior Costing Him Money, More

We recently interviewed legendary Superstar Jake "The Snake" Roberts, where he strictly discussed his first WWF run.

WrestlingINC: I wanted to talk about '80's wrestling in the WWF, where you became a huge star. What do you remember about signing with the company?

Jake Roberts: Well, it was quite the experience. I had been working in Mid-South and not really being given a fair shake there. I was told I was number five on the babyface list, yet I was going on last every night. So, that kind of tells you something. Bill Watts hired a guy to be his administrator. It was Terry Taylor of all people, you know, the Red Rooster.

I remember going to talk to Terry and I said, 'Look, I'm number five on the babyface list, yet I'm going on last every night. This is just not going to work.' He said, 'Well, what can I tell you?' And I said, 'Well, I can tell you something. Here's two weeks notice and I'll see you.' So, that's what I did. I was young, dumb and stupid, not thinking. I didn't have a job set up. So, I went home that night saying, 'I really screwed up. I just quit my job and I don't have a place to go to get some work done.'

The next morning, I called Vince [McMahon] and I was told that he was going to be out of town for two weeks and that he would get back with me then. I thought, Oh, my god. Now, I've really screwed up. About 30 minutes later, the phone rang and it was Vince. He wanted me to fly up and meet with him, so I flew up and met with him. Basically, we sat down and he said, 'We have an idea of you wearing lime green pants or purple pants -- tights -- and having knee high lace up boots and carrying a snake.' I said, 'Dude, that's just not me. I wear karate pants and I wear slip on boots. Because the last thing I want to do when I do is know that I wasted 5 years of my life lacing up boots.'

I actually did do the math of that and if you spent 20 minutes a day lacing up your boots, it adds up over 15-20 years, man. So, it was going to be about four months of my life lacing up boots if I did that. So, that's the reason I went to pull ones. You know, it's funny how you think of stupid s--t, but I'm good at that. So, he just kind of looked at me and said, 'Well, that's a shame because there's somebody who's going to be wearing purple and lime green with knee high snake skin boots and they're going to make about a million a year.'

So, I looked at him and I said, 'You know what? I would look very good in spandex. With purple and green and knee high boots. I think I'd look just wonderful.' And that was how I went to work.

WrestlingINC: You used 'The Snake' moniker when you were with Mid-South and WCCW. Did you already own snakes, or was that something that Vince brought to you?

Roberts: No. I hated the sons of b-----s. I'm terrified of them.

WrestlingINC: So, I take it Vince came up with the idea?

Roberts: Well, no, I came up with the idea. In Mid-South, I wanted to use a snake and Bill Watts was quick to tell me that this isn't a damn circus. 'We're not going to have any circus clowns or circus geeks carrying snakes.' Gee, he was so right. What a stupid idea.

WrestlingINC: So when you went to WWF, did you pitch that idea to Vince?

Roberts: No, they had come back with it. They said, 'Have you thought about this before?' I said, 'Well, Jake 'The Snake'? Kind of fits.' [Laughs.] They said, 'Well, good. You're going to carry a snake.' I said, 'No problem.' Not thinking that I was terrified of them and hated the sons of b-----s. Next thing you know, I've got a damn snake... They supplied them. There was a guy in Stamford, Connecticut named Albert that supplied all the snakes.

WrestlingINC: Did you have to travel with it?

Roberts: Yes, I did. What a miserable damn job that was, carrying a 100 pound snake in a box and carrying my wrestling gear and clothes. Back then, we'd go on the road for a month to six weeks at a time. Carrying all that s--t was just really, really brutal, man. It really tore my ass up. You wake up in a hotel room at 5 AM -- there's no bellmen at the Red Roof. You've got to do it yourself. Then you get your rental car and you've got to turn that back in. So, you've got to take all that s--t back out and put it on the bus to the airport. Then, when you get there, you've got to carry it all the way over to the skycaps. If they are available because a lot of airports didn't have skycaps. So, what does that mean? That means I'm carrying that stupid s--t.

So, here I am carrying 150 pounds of gear, walking around with that stuff. That's not healthy to do, really. It wore my ass out.

WrestlingINC: So, you made your debut there and then a month later, you're on WrestleMania II. Did you expect to make the pay-per-view that fast?

Roberts: It kind of surprised me but they were trying to load all their guns at the time. That's where they did the three cities, so there was certainly room for me on the card somewhere.

WrestlingINC: You're debut -- though, I guess it wasn't technically your debut -- always sticks out in my mind. When you wrestled George Wells, put the snake on him and he started foaming at the mouth.

Roberts: It's funny what alka-seltzers will do for you. [Laughs.]

WrestlingINC: [Laughs.] It was effective. It was something that really stuck out in people's minds. But then, you had the feud with Ricky Steamboat. What was it like working with Ricky Steamboat?

Roberts: It was wonderful. We had actually been tag partners in the Carolinas a few times and any time around Ricky was great. Whether you were wrestling or just riding down the road.

WrestlingINC: Another thing that really stuck out back then was that you were kind of a pioneer in a sense that everyone during the era was really jacked up and had the bodybuilder physique and you became a huge star without having to do that. Do you think that held you back at all, not being the bodybuilder type?

Roberts: Well, I never really thought about it like that. But, no, I wasn't all jacked up and juiced up. The one time I did go up, it was after my neck surgery. I went up to about 275 pounds. I had gotten up juiced and jacked because I was trying to get myself over the neck surgery. I went in after the neck surgery to see Vince and he goes, 'That's not what we want.' I said, 'What are you talking about? This is not what you want?' Because I had really put on a lot of beef on my upper body.' He said, 'You know, if we wanted Hogan to carry a snake, we'd have Hogan carry a snake. We don't want you looking like that. You want you to be very sensuous, very sexual, smooth. Be different.

Well, ain't that a b---h. So, he told me that he didn't want to hear about me being in the gym. [Laughs.] So, I went home and sat by the pool for a month, snorted cocaine and drank. So, there you go. ... Well, I shouldn't have done what I did. That's for damn sure.

Make sure to check back tomorrow for the second and final part of our interview, where Roberts discusses his favorite opponents during that era, working with Andre the Giant and Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior being fired before their feud and much more.

WrestlingINC: You looked like you were getting ready to feud with Hulk Hogan and you did the DDT on him and the fans were chanting 'DDT.' This was when Hogan was at his peak of his popularity. Was that the reason you became a babyface?

Jake Roberts: The angle was stopped because the people were chanting DDT and Vince did not want that. That's when they really took me from being a heel to being a babyface and my job then became getting all the other heels ready to wrestle Hogan. So, I guess they thought, 'If we can't use him as a heel, we'll just beat him as a babyface.' But, it didn't matter. If you're good enough and you go out there and you do your job, people don't remember if you won or lost. They really don't. They just want to be entertained.

WrestlingINC: You then had a short feud with Randy Savage. What are some of your memories of working with him?

Roberts: With Randy? He's a psychotic son of a b---h, man. He was nuts. I love Randy to death but he was a psycho. You had to ground him. What I'd do is I'd go out and lean on him during the early part of the match until he got tired. Then, once he got tired, he was much more sensible in terms of what we were doing.

WrestlingINC: You also feuded with The Honky Tonk Man and so many great moments. What were some of your favorite moments from that era?

Roberts: The Andre thing was right up there at the top. Honky Tonk was fun because of Alice Cooper. WrestleMania III of course. But, doing the thing with Andre, man, it just blew me away. To be wrestling Andre The Giant, I'd never of thought that would have happened in my wildest dreams. It was just really spectacular, you know?

That and doing the thing with Earthquake. Doing the thing with Rick Rude, even though Rick Rude told me that my wife hit harder than I did. That kind of pissed me off. She did kind of cup his ear and pop his eardrum for him. What the hell, it was a lucky shot. [Laughs.]

WrestlingINC: With the feud with Andre, everybody always says that if he liked you, he was great to work with....

Roberts: And if he didn't, he would make you freaking miserable. ... It was a very, very very pleasant experience. We had a little rough road at first. Basically, he had a match in Los Angeles and he just guzzled me the whole match. Everything I tried, he blocked it. Just freaking guzzled me for 20 minutes and I was furious. I came back to the locker room and I just started yelling at him. 'What the f--k you doing out there, man? We ain't going to make any money with you doing that s--t? That's bulls--t! You guzzled me, man, you didn't give me a damn thing. We're not going to make a damn dime and I just don't want to work with you if you're going to be like that, man. Screw you.'

He looked at me and he told me to sit down. I don't know why I did because he could have reached over and he could have killed me. He said, 'Now, we don't have a problem. I just wanted to see.' Basically, he wanted to see if I would man up. Once I manned up, man, what a cake up. I mean, he still brutalized me out there but he was just having fun doing it. You know? It's different then. Whether it be him standing on my hair and grabbing my arm and I can hear my hair popping like piano strings or him sitting on me and farting on me, which was a horrible experience. I did not realize how long a Giant could fart. So, it was like 25 seconds of just brutal gas. There's something about vodka and wine with not much food that really gives a man a nasty potion to inhale.

I know I thought I had a birth mark on my arm but it was just a wine stain from his ass. [Laughs.] He could do some stuff to you out there, man. His strength was just incredible, it was unbelievable. But, I loved the man, I loved working with him. We had a great time.

WrestlingINC: Later on, in the early 1990's, you turned hell again and had feuds with Randy Savage and Ultimate Warrior. Was turning heel something you wanted to do?

Roberts: Yeah, I was young and you just wanted to make money. I actually liked being a heel better, anyway. Doing the turn and the Ultimate Jackoff -- I mean the Ultimate Warrior -- screwing it up and then getting fired cost me a lot of damn money, man. It really, really did. I was going to get that run with the champ. I mean, he made you buckets full of money. That's just the way it was. So, that got screwed up.

Then, I started with with Randy and, again, working with Randy is like working with a psycho every night. You never know what page he's going to be on. There were some problems because of having Liz get on her knees and beg and all that s--t. His in-laws were not smart to the business. So, they took what I did to her very personal. You know, slapping her and all that crap. They became very angry with Randy and told him not to ever come back to their house again. That he wasn't welcomed. They were calling him and calling him a piece of s--t and everything else. 'You let this girl be treated like that? How dare you let our little girl get treated like that. You said you'd always protect her. You scumbag.' You know, they really went off on the guy.

WrestlingINC: Really?

Roberts: Oh, yeah. Yeah. So, the angle was cut short because he had to get even with me much sooner than need to be. It should have been a much longer feud. But, he had to get even with me and beat me because of what he was doing at home.

WrestlingINC: Was there any heat between you and Randy because of the in-laws? I mean, that was all basically scripted to play out that way.

Roberts: Sure, it was. I was upset about it. But, what the hell? It was done, it was done. I wasn't worried about it.

WrestlingINC: You mentioned the Ultimate Warrior leaving. He was another guy that a lot of guys say was difficult to work with. It sounded like you were looking forward to working a program with him.

Roberts: I was looking forward to making the son of a b---h miserable. You've got to learn how to do it. You know? You take a juice monkey, you lean on him. You make him toss you around the ring but every time he picks you up, you get a little bit heavier. Pretty soon, they're blowing and going and they don't have any air left and you can pretty much do anything you want to them. They're like a little baby. You can roll them around the ring, pick your nose and put boogers on the back of their head. They don't give a s--t because they're so blown up.

You've just got to know how to do that and I know how to do that. I am a snake.

WrestlingINC: [Laughs.] Yeah, so that never worked out. I know we're almost out of time, but I wanted to ask you about working with The Undertaker early in his career. Was he somebody that you enjoyed working with?

Roberts: It was fun working with him. I mean, he rode around with me for several months and I'd already gotten in his head. We'd already talked a lot. I tried to help him as much as I could. Mark's a wonderful guy. And what do you say about Percy Pringle except he's the most handsome man in the world. [Laughs.] Paul Bearer is just a good looking man, that's all you can say. He's the Frank Sinatra of wrestling. [Laughs.]

WWE Studios And Warner Bros Team For Animated ‘Scooby-Doo’ Film

By MIKE FLEMING | Wednesday August 15, 2012 @ 11:14am EDT

Mike Fleming

Warner Bros and WWE Studios will coproduce a Scooby-Doo animated feature that will involve a mystery at WrestleMania. This seems a natural, since most Scooby-Doo episodes involved one of the gang pulling off the mask of a criminal who opines he would have gotten away with it if not for those pesky kids. Well, wrestlers are big on wearing masks, and the WWE has lined up its grapplers Triple H, John Cena, Kane, The Miz, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, Sin Cara, AJ, and WWE chairman/CEO Vince McMahon to lend their voices and appear in animated form in the film. Warner Bros Home Entertainment will distribute the film through Blu-ray, DVD, VOD and digital download, and the WWE will use its considerable resources to promote the effort, said WWE Studios President Michael Luisi.

Chris Jericho: From Y2J to 'Sin and Bones'

WWE superstar on touring and the next big things in wrestling and metal

By Richard Whittaker, 6:00PM, Tue. Aug. 14

Chris Jericho of Fozzy and the WWE:
Chris Jericho of Fozzy and the WWE: "I always say that they only people who don't like Fozzy who are into heavy music are the people who've never heard us."
"When I was a kid, I wanted to be in a rock and roll band, and I wanted to be a wrestler." That makes Chris Jericho one lucky bastard, because he's managed both. In his day job he's a top star in the WWE: Y2J, the best there is at what he does. On the other, he's the mouth of classic metalers Fozzy.

Makes sense. Back when Fozzy was just a cover band headed by Jericho and his old friend Rich Ward of Southern fried rap metallers Stuck Mojo, Jericho was the the ayatollah of rock-and-rollah, the cocky, smack-talking wrestler with a headbanging attitude.

Add in Ward, who Jericho calls "one of the pioneers of rap metal, but because of his tones and his riffs, he's a groove guitar player. he could be in Aerosmith in a second. He's got that vibe."

Tonight Jericho bids farewell (at least for a little while) to the squared circle as Fozzy's fifth album, Sin And Bones hits stores. This Friday he'll be joining the Rock Star Uproar tour with radio metalers Shinedown, Godsmack, Staind, and Papa Roach, and that will be taking his time – well except for a brief stop by the Staples Center in Los Angeles for WWE Summerslam, the big mid-year PPV event. There he and rising star Dolph Ziggler will be blowing out their big feud, as the best there is takes on the egotist with the skills to back it up.

Jericho has reached rare heights in the wrestling industry. Aside from having been crowned the first ever undisputed WWE champion, he is up there with Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, being able to move sideways within the entertainment industry. Now Fozzy as a band is reaching the same kind of status that he gets in the ring, and that's perfect for Jericho. He said, "I've been playing in bands since I was 12 years old, and I'll be playing in bands when I'm 62 years old. It's just part of me."

Austin Chronicle: When you're thinking, 'OK, now's Fozzy time and now's WWE time,' how do you make that decision?

Chris Jericho: It's really a decision that's made for me. Back in the 2000s for the first three Fozzy records, I did the WWE and Fozzy at the same time, which was fine. But when we were doing Chasing the Grail, our last record, in 2009, myself and Rich Ward, my partner in crime, were thinking, 'We've really got to take this to the next level, because this record is great.' I left WWE when Grail came out, went touring for 16 months, did 15 countries and amassed an even bigger fanbase than we had. It was a real credibility gain for us. Then when we started doing Sin and Bones, as the singer I write the lyrics and I record the vocals, which takes about 15 days. Other than that I had about nine months of doing nothing, so that's when I decided to come back to the WWE, knowing that when this record came out that I'd be finished for whatever indeterminate amount of time.

AC: When the first album came out, you had pretty much instantaneous success, but you started doing original material, rather than just covers. How was that change?

JC: We started as a cover band, and then we were offered a record deal right off the bat because of who was in the band – Jericho and Rich Ward. We were signed by Johnny Zazula, who signed Metallica and Anthrax. He signed us as a cover band, and we said, 'You do know we're playing other people's songs?' and he said, 'No, no, I love it, I love it.' Most bands start by playing covers, we started by recording them. Then in '04 we decided that we wanted to do our own stuff and all original stuff, so it almost feels like there's two versions of the band. There's the one that started in the early 2000s, and there's the new beast that started in '05 and continues to this day.

AC: How was it making that change?

JC: The thing about us is that we just kept doing it and we never stopped. Love us or hate us, we're not going anywhere. And what happens when you keep putting out quality material and playing great shows, word starts spreading around. People will go, 'I don't give a shit who's in this band, I don't care how they started. We love this band.' When that starts happening, other people start taking notice, and them you start getting friends in high places, from Zack Wylde (Black Label Society) to Marty Friedman (Megadeth) to Mark Tremonti (Alter Bridge) and even to people like M. Shadows (Avenged Sevenfold) on the new record. These guys wouldn't be endorsing us if it wasn't good, and the next thing you know, people are making their own decisions. That's all we ask. I always say that they only people who don't like Fozzy who are into heavy music are the people who've never heard us. You just have a preconcieved notion, and that's fine. Every band has to go through that, one way or another, and we just kept going.

We have a very successful business model that we use. We've never lost money on a tour, we've never lost money on a record, and we just keep getting bigger and bigger – which, after 13 years, there's not a lot of bands can say. You're already at the top, or you're done.

AC: How do you compare touring with WWE against touring with a band, just on a day-to-day grind basis?

JC: It's probably harder in the WWE, because you're always alone and by yourself – least that's the way I travel. You have to arrange your own travel and arrange your own hotels and drive yourself. Whereas when you're traveling with the band you just get in the van and go. There's pros and cons to both.

I've been on the road since I was 19 years old, so I like being on the road, I enjoy being on the road, I understand the ins and outs of being on the road. So whether it's with Fozzy or the WWE, I'm comfortable. But it is more fun to travel with the band. You're with your buds, you have a good time, you relax, and when you're ready to be by yourself, you just go to your bunk, shut the curtains and you're fine. You don't have to worry about going through security or checking bags or getting rental cars. So that's one cool thing that's better about traveling with the band, for sure.

AC: So how much did you learn from Rich on that?

JC: When we started with Fozzy, we were traveling in vans. That includes in Europe. The first tour of England, we were traveling in a souped-up Scooby Doo van that had nails in the back. We didn't start in a nice tour bus. We've paid every single due that a band can play, and probably double because of who was in the band and how we started. That makes it even sweeter now. I just talked to Rich last night, and they're on the way to Kansas City for Uproar, and I asked, 'How's the bus?' He said, 'It's the nicest bus I've ever been in in my whole career,' and that to me means something. We have worked our way up to that point. We weren't the band with a silver spoon in our mouths, that's for damned sure. And when we started Fozzy in '99, I'd already been on the road, around the world, for nine years, so I didn't have to learn anything. You just have to deal with it and go with the flow. You've got to have the right attitude, and never think of yourself as too much of a rock star. As soon as you do, the toilet clogs up in your dressing room and the floor is filled with piss water. That takes away your rock star vibe.

AC: So listening to the new album, Sin and Bones, what's the difference between it and Chasing the Grail, your last release?

JC: I think it's the evolution of where the band has gone since '05. I think All That Remains was a good record. I think Grail was leaps and bounds ahead because there was so much more touring we had, done, being together as a band, knowing our strengths and weaknesses. That's why we ended up with Sin and Bones, because we know exactly what we wanted to do. Very heavy riffs, very melodic vocals and choruses. We figured out: That's what we do. That's what we do best. That's something that makes us a little unique from other bands, and it's something that's taken us as far as it has. It's really cool, because I've read 15, 20 reviews, and reviews are great, and you can take or leave them, but the majority are saying that it's the best stuff we've ever done, that it's the first time they've listened to the band with an open mind because of what we talked about earlier. It's like, OK, we've heard a lot about All That Remains, but they'll go away. Chasing the Grail, people are saying it's the best album of the year, but why? I'm still not going to listen to it, this is bullshit. Then Sin and Bones came out and they say, OK, I'm finally going to give it a chance. Oh my gosh, what have I been waiting for all these years?

We've finally, after all these years, found exactly what it is we do that makes us better than anybody else, that makes us unique. We've also got a lot of diversity: We love Metallica and Iron Maiden and Ozzy, but we also love the Beatles and Journey and Pink Floyd, those bands from the 70s like Stixx and Foreigner where everybody sang in the choruses, and we're implementing it. We've done things our own way our entire career, so fuck it, we're going to continue to it our own way. If people like it, great. If people don't, then just step aside and let the other people enjoy it. This is the real thing. This is going to continue to exist, so come aboard and join the party, instead of trying to be so stiff-lipped about it.

AC: How much pressure does that put on you, knowing that this run against Ziggler will be the last memory of people in the ring for you for a while?

JC: These guys needs guys to work with. Once again, that's sounding egotistical, but after 22 years of being in this business, there's nobody in this company who's been in the business longer – except for Undertaker. I've been wrestling longer than Kane, I've been wrestling longer than Triple H. I didn't request to work with Ziggler. At first, I thought it was Sheamus, than I was supposed to work with Daniel Bryan, and then they just told me, OK, you're working with Ziggler. I said, 'Great.' I will work with anybody, and I will do the absolute best I can to help that. I've been through this before.

This will be the third time that I've left, and this may make people mad, but I've never been just a wrestler. I'm an entertainer. I do a lot of different things in that realm. I don't put myself in a box when it comes. So when I get a chance to work with a guy like Ziggler, I know what I can do with him. I know how good he is. He just needs somebody to help him. And when I'm putting together matches or doing promos with these guys, things that I just see as basics, they still haven't figured out yet. That's not a bad thing. That's just the experience difference, and that's why I can help, and I think that's why I can come and go from the WWE for years to come.

I'm in the best shape of my life. I feel great. I'm enjoying this run, and if I didn't have a tour and a record coming out, I would stay. It's not like I can't wait to leave – in fact, it's the complete opposite. I'm a little sad to leave, in one way, but super-excited by the reason why I'm leaving.

I like the idea of passing the torch along and passing the experience along. That's the way I was trained. I grew up in Japan, and that's how they do it. Old guys teach the young guys, and that's the way it is. The business is more important than any single individual, and I've always felt that way. Haven't always been treated that way, but I've always felt that way.

AC: If you had to pick a wrestler and a metal band that you think are the ones to watch, who would you say?

JC: Avenged Sevenfold is only starting to realize how good they are. I think they'll be the next Metallica, and I think they're well on their way. They're at where Metallica was at with Master of Puppets. They're going to hook up with some producer who is going to make them even bigger. I think Bullet for My Valentine is another band that's growing. Their singer and guitarist Matt Tuck is another guy that gets it, that understands that it's not always about how fast and heavy you can be, but about how you groove, and catchy beats and catchy choruses.

As for future guys here, Ziggler's one of them for sure. The Miz is another. I think Damien Sandow, against anything that I expected, has been doing great, and I think he's got a great upside. I think there's quite a few guys where things are looking up, because the WWE is a talent-driven business. Guys are going to come and go, but the ones who are going to stick are the ones who are going to be carrying this company on their backs in the future. There are some good prospects here, and that's why I'm excited about the prospect of coming back.

Kurt Angle Calls Out CM Punk Again, Then Deletes Tweets (Photo)

Despite apologizing to WWE and TNA fans earlier tonight for lashing out at WWE Champion CM Punk for his recent comments about TNA being akin to an indy league, Kurt Angle took back to his Twitter to call out Punk just hours later.

"Who Wants to See Angle vs. Punk?," Angle wrote. "It would Last 30 Secs. Lol. Just Kidding. I'm not Mad anymore. Punk, Ur Safe Now... Put It to Rest. Angle vs. Punk will Happen. Tna or Wwe. I Hope Tna. We'll See. U tough Punk?

"If Tna is an Indy Company, then Why Do I Make More $ than Punk Does in Wwe? I'm just Saying."

Angle later deleted those tweets, but not before they were captured. You can check the deleted tweets out below:

Why don't these celebrity numbnuts realize people will save information you post online especially on Twitter? You can't "delete" that shit. Kurt has always shown his numbnut side online so I guess it's no surprise. Idiot. Only way a Punk and Angle fight would happen is if Kurt leaves TNA and go back to WWF, er, WWE. So it ain't happening. bored2 Just look out for your (gorgeous) wife...

Smackdown Spoilers (to air on 8/17):

We open SmackDown with a recap of last week and the beat down on Shemaeus by Alberto Del Rio. Del rio is out to start the show and is demanding that he get his championship match back at SummerSlam.

Booker T is out to confront Del Rio. Booker T says that a man does not dress goons up in cop suits and attack one man. Chris Jericho comes out and goes off on Del Rio and calls him a yapping dog. Jericho starts speaking Spanish and says that Del Rio's breath smells like dog s--t in Spanish. Yes, he's speaking in Spanish. Jericho says that he wants to take Del Rio's spot at SummerSlam. The main event tonight is set, and it will be Jericho vs. Del Rio. Booker T said Sheamus will not wrestle at SummerSlam.

Rey Mysterio and Sin Cara vs. The Miz and Cody Rhodes. Rey hits the 619 while Cody is trying to take of Sin Cara's mask and gets the win after the top rop dive. After the match, Mysterio hit the Miz with a 619 after Miz tried to sneak attack him. Heck of a match, Rey and Sin Cara are amazing together.

Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan is announced for later tonight.

Curt Hawkins and Tyler Reks beat two jobbers. Hawkins and Reks are doing some new stipper "Magic Mike" dance gimmick now.

William Regal is backstage telling Eve how powerful he was when he was the GM. Workers then came up to Regal and asked him to take the trash out.

Teddy Long is out at the announce booth to commentate during the Divas match between Eve and Kaitlyn. Eve defeated Kaitlyn to become Booker T's new assistant. Short, sloppy match.

Randy Orton defeated Daniel Bryan. Kane faked his entrance to distract Bryan, and Orton nailed him with an RKO to get the pin.

Daniel Bryan is staying in the ring with the mic screaming "No No!," and says he won't leave until the people stop chanting "YES!" Triple H comes out and pedigrees him. This likely won't make the air.

It's announced that WWE will return to Austin for a live event on January 11th. The pre-sale password is AUSCENA.

Santino comes out for color commentary. Antonio Cesaro defeated Zack Ryder in less than a minute. After the match, Santino hit Cesaro.

Alberto Del Rio vs. Chris Jericho is up next. Del Rio is out first. Jericho is coming out and is attacked by Ziggler, who screams to Jericho to not overlook him. The match has started, looks like Jericho is going to wrestle hurt. Del Rio dominated the majority of the match by attacking Jericho's injured ribs. Ziggler interfered twice, allowing Del Rio to win with the Shining Wizard kick.

After the match, Ziggler and Del Rio double team Jericho until Sheamus makes the save. Del Rio attacks Sheamus, but Sheamus makes a comeback and Del Rio escapes through the crowd. Booker T comes out to address the situation. Booker tells Sheamus that he should not be there. Sheamus demands that his rematch with Del Rio get re-instated. Booker originally says "no," but Sheamus keeps pleading. After Sheamus said "please" like three times, Booker relented and said that the match is back on for SummerSlam.

After the cameras stopped rolling, Del Rio sneaks back up on Sheamus. Sheamus and Del Rio fight into the crowd and Sheamus gets the upper hand. Sheamus then stood victorious as Del Rio ran away again.

In the dark match, John Cena defeated The Big Show with the AA.
