Are you joking?

This is one of the more gracious rejection letters I've seen. These days you're lucky to get an acknowledgement you're even alive. These guys told you exactly what got you passed over, so now you know what disadvantage to compensate for.

nod I'm with Lammastide on this. I can't tell you how many jobs that I've applied for, that I never even got a, "thank you for your interest in the position", letter.

The reason why they are going to shred your application is to protect you from identity theft (which is happening more than ever right now). That is a wise thing for them to do, so a random stranger can't get a hold of your personal information. The person who stole your identity will find out where you live, and even possibly get a hold of your social security number (if you've included it on your job application). They can even apply for a credit card under your name, max it out, and then you wind up getting billed for it. Then you have to go through the hassle of calling the credit card company to explain that the charges are not yours.

I wouldn't take it personally if I were you. Just keep looking. The perfect job will come along.

RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

I was mainly attacking it from the use of theword shredding. In a way it has let me down gently and indicates I probably got close to the interview stage. I also found out its main rival had laid off several staff as its going through hard times. People are not buying music as much anymore thanks to itunes and both of these shops charge high prices of $37.95 for a new release CD, where the Warehouse (Our Walmart) sells new releases at 24.95 tops.

Still I found the email braggy and slightly malicious, shred is not a nice word to use unless your are talking about pounds or vegetables.

Huh??

It's called a fucking document shredder! "Shred" is the absolute only appropriate word, since it's exactly what they DID. They shredded the piece of paper with a paper shredder. To protect your personal information.

I seriously don't understand you right now.

It's what you make it.

Um.... This HAS to be a bait thread. lol

I've had full blown interviews, and then no phone calls afterwords after they said that they would call me to tell me when their projects would kick off, using language that indicated I was being fastracked for a job. lol

Whoever sent you that was being very kind.

Then you should know that shredding documents has been a common practice since the late 80's. It is even more common now that the threat of ID theft looms...
