"Pnin" , Vladimir Nabokov.

Already read that once before but prof Pnin is such a nice
character [one of Nabokov's nicest, most 'real' creations]
that I just wanted to read it again. Very funny too.

Cool. I read that about 3 or 4 years ago now. Perhaps it's
been 5 years already. I don't remember much about it, except
that it got pretty weird and something about "Garamond"
publishing company or something. Hmm, you made me want to
go and re-read it too now. I'm such a copy-cat.

It's a philosophy book that is written in a way that both the philosopher and the layman can understand without dumbing down.
It tackles topics such as knowledge, consciousness, fate, God, truth, goodness and justice.

I strongly reccomend it. There's a quote from the link below that says "Every smart person should read this in their lifetime!"

Check out the link...

I'm still moving through Jude Wanniski's The Way the World Works. Great stuff...

But I'm also digging into O'Reilly's Cascading Style Sheets - The Definitive Guide. CSS is cool...

I'm reading The Gift of Asher Lev by Chaim Potok.
It's about a Jewish painter who's from a rather orthodox Jewish community in Brooklyn, NY.
It's the follow-up on the book My name is Asher Lev. He's been struggeling his whole life with his people to just be his talented self and to paint and draw. He's been banned by his people because to them art is a very bad thing and certainly a waist of time. Now he's returned to Brooklyn from France, where he's fled to, and the story continues.

Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand.

...However, I've layed it aside for the past couple of days, because I've discovered a great magazine called Taste of Home ( www.tasteofhome.com ) which has some really fabulous and easy to follow recipes...(this magazine has no advertisment, so, therefore, it's just front to back recipes, helpful tips, contests and prizes...lots of stuff...and, contains pictures on recipe cards to cut out and save of every recipe in each issue)...It's down-home, "stick to your ribs" cooking, but it's sensible smile this I love smile

I back ordered a couple dozen plus a few issues...and, I am having a ball reading thru this stack and looking and learning to be a better cook. biggrin

i read that exquisite corpse about a year ago

afterwards i had to throw it away cos when i saw it peeping out of the bookshelves it actually made me feel queasy as fuck.

You gotta in a perverse way, admire an author that can get to you that way, dont know if i could stomach it 8 million times tho!

At the moment im reading a biography of Richard Francis Burton (not the actor!!)

and "Death in the afternoon" Ernest Hemingway a book about bull fighting not politically correct but there ya go
