Easy VEGAN ice cream recipes

I've been making vegan ice cream for about 4 years now.

One of the reasons is that I can't really have milk....My body reacts to it by

making mucus, and I actually develope cold like symptoms if I consume too

much dairy.

Another reason, is that vegan ice cream recipes are easy to make and are

nutrient dense. Any caloric savings is negligeable, so I won't argue that

you can loose weight on them, but you can eat more nutriciously.

This website has a few very easy recipes using frozen bananas in food

processors (they work). http://cleangreensimple.c...a-machine/

The issue with using frozen bananas for me is that you have to ensure that you

counter balance them with other flavors...otherwise, you get banana ice cream lol

I've made a frozen banana "chai" ine cream that was delicious.

You add in nutmeg, clove, and cinamon, a drop of honey, and

salt to taste, and the ice cream is amazing.

This recipe, is a bit of a fuss in comparison, but still very easy to make.

You need:

1. 1 cup cashews

2. 2 tablespoons cocoa

3. 1 teaspoon vanilla (or stalk vanilla bean)

4. 3/4 cup coconut water (health food stores or asian markets). If you don't have it, then you can use regular water.

5. 2 to 3 tablespoons mapple syrup

6. 1/2 teaspoon of salt

Place the items in a blender and blend like crazy. Get it as smooth as you can get it.

It should resemble a cream when you're done---not to liquidy, but not like putt or anything.

This will take up to 5 minutes or so of blending on and off. Just make sure it's as creamy

as you can make it. Taste it to make sure it's the flavor you desire. SOme folks like more vanilla,

some more cocoa, some more mapple syrup (mapple enhances the chocolate taste for some reason).

Then put it into a container of some kind and place in the freezer until it is lightly frozen.

Serve with your favorite topping.

Oh, I forgot to add.

There are plenty of vegan ice creams on the market now if you check with your health markets, etc.

However, those products are crap as far as I'm concerned.

Part of the reason you eat food is for the joy of it. It should taste god.

I've not seen any commercial products on the market that actually tasted good.

That's why I looked for alternatives on the Internet and started experimenting.

Turns out that you can have absolutely delicious ice cream without milk if you do it yourself.

Vegan coconut-based yogurts are delicious though, and hard to distinguish from the milk-based ones. I used
