There's no point in doing a Last Friday if there's no Smokey.
IMO, it's about coming full circle. Completion
Here's my take on how it could be done. The basic storyline should revolve around Smokey trying to get Craig to stop smoking weed. I know, it's corny, but it could work. Let's say Smokey is a recovered weed-head who has turned his life over to Christ and feels guilty about "introducing" Craig to his favorite pasttime.
There's definitely humor in that..... |

Even though U make good points. Chris Tucker didn't blow anything. He walked away on his own. He himself said he didn't like the parts that we're being offered to him at the time.. He opted not to dress like a women like Martin & Eddie did. He did a Dave Chappelle. He didn't sell his soul like the others did.
Martin went loony & I won't talk about what Eddie did...Chris may not be as popular as he used to be. But at least he has his sanity..Being at the top isn't always pretty...
I agree. It's been said somewhere about the world of "selling your soul for success" that if a black man wants a prominent role (or success, in general), he must do something to emasculate himself. For example, dress like a woman or portraying a homosexual.

^ There ain't no such thing. Chris Tucker just wanna "upgrade" and I don't see no problem with it. I'm actually surprised people still care about "Friday" as they do as if another sequel is what we need... this Hollywood industry is all hell bent on making people see the same thing over and over again. |

This project is still in the very early stages. they gotta get a buzz goin for this movie to test the audiences likely to go see it and whoever is willing to front the cash to get it off the ground and be involved in it. its gonna happen imo, especially if theyre planning on this actually being the "last friday" |

I think people care because it's good for a laugh. It's the same reason people rush to see the nineteenth thousand sequel of a horror movie or an action. Hollywood is only doing what it has always done, it's up to the people whether or not to participate.
As for Chris Tucker wanting to upgrade (or maybe not be typecasted is more fitting). There definitely isn't any shame in that. |

Prince is not flamboyant in that way. Its actually an insult to him. I can see why he turned it down. But Chris was funny as hell in it.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! Not really. Prince is the one person who can look the way that he does and still having all (well, the vast majority) of the female population swooning. In that way, he is much like the character. I can't think of the character's name, at the moment, everything about him screamed "GAY". And didn't Prince go through that at one point in time, too? |

Hey, he better cash in on this Friday movie because Jackie Chan already said he doesn't like doing the Rush Hour movies, so that Rush Hour 4 is looking a little shaky. I think a lot more people would come and see this new Friday movie if they know Smokey is up in there and he's probably make a good chunk of change.
lol yeah I did hear Chan is fucking plans up for a fourth film.

The difference is Prince is not gay. He just is in touch with both sides of his sexuality. His feminine & masculine sides...There are a lot of men like that. Lenny Kravitz is one of them & they never call him gay. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"! So Chris Tucker was in touch of his feminine side in that role. Got it |

The part the I compared to Prince was the character's ability to pull women everywhere, in spite of, his appearance, mannerisms, etc. I didn't say that either he or the character were, indeed, gay. But, we are not going to act like some people don't "read books by their covers" when it comes to him...one too many threads on Org to confirm that. I, personally, never said Prince was gay, bi, or omni. He is what he is....a musician genius.
As for Mr. Kravitz, no...he will never be referred to as being anything other than....sexy Mr. Kravitz. |

I saw Kravitz up close & personal earlier this year at an "Industry event". Saw what he was wearing & wondered to myself. Why I never heard any gay rumors about him. i guess he was lucky enough to escape them. Unlike other well known black men that dress suspect.. will ALWAYS think of like a "ACT OF GOD"!
