Yep.
It's my experience that men are more ruthless golddiggers than the women I know.

personally, I would say that many men are SURVIVORS, and many women are GOLDDIGGERS

i married someone that was poor, and we've been married for years, and i don't regret marrying him at all. we've struggled with finances througout our marriage. but it has brought us closer together, and made our marriage stronger. for some people this could tear their marriage/relationship apart. but for us it made our marriage stronger because we only had ourselves to build up, everything we have now, is because we worked hard for it.
i have known people that have married for money, and they are still together, so i guess it can work? if i hadn't met my spouse, i don't know what i would of done? money is helpful, but if there isn't trust, love, or respect in the mix, it won't last.

Butterflies are the greatest thing but they seem to make me blind. I've had boyfriends that liked me far more than I liked them, got along with them very well, enjoyed being with them a whole lot, sex was good I just never had those butterflies for them. Seems I remember those relationships more fondly. Thinking back if other things had of been in place I could have comfortably married one of them. But would I con anyone into thinking I was head over heels in love just because they had money? No, that's another ballgame to me, I wouldn't be interested in.
If someone close to me made that decision, I wouldn't think anything less of them, if they were honest but if they are scamming the person like a mark then I'd probably end up distancing myself from them.

Very, very interesting what you stated about the "non-butterfly-inducing" relationships. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

no.
i have a wild streak of independence. i dont like to rely on others for anything, least of all monetary support. my ex before last was wealthy to the point his art collection includes warhols (plural), harings (plural) and a picasso. we are best friends now, and he is leaving me his art collection, partially because i am not about the material side so much as i am the only one that appreciates the art and would not sell it. money holds little value for me. I can earn more than enough money on my own lol....and I could never feel "comfortable" in a relationship devoid of a sincerely intimate and passionate connection.

I understand what you're saying.
Not to try and derail my own thread...BUT...once an artist gains a certain level of international appeal (Picasso, Warhol, etc.) I would want anything I owned to be on display for the public. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!
