A Ho's Place? So I was sitting in the salon waiting to get my "hurr" did, looking through old magazines as usual when I ran across an ad for this book...
A Ho Needs To Stay In A Ho's Place
At first I was...
After reading the blurb, I was...
Now I gotta admit, I'm kinda curious.
Anybody else curious?

okay, er'body knows i have 2 c 4 myself so:
i looked it up for sake of posting the cover and posting a review or two. not sure if i want to buy it, but maybe i will for convo sake. [52 pages is a quick read] synopsis:
here's 2 reader's reviews: 1. What can I say that the title doesn't already say? "A Ho Needs 2 Stay in Her Place" is an extremely quick and easy read. It's comical yet sad that this issue even needs to be addressed, but it is what it is. Tonja Ayers lends a helping hand in this self help/how to guide, if you will. She first offers the four roles or positions that women may play in men's lives - wifey, boo, b*tch, and ho. She next defines the perimeters and expectations of each role with emphasis on the need to stay in one's place.
2. First of all I have to say I just stopped laughing and rolling on the floor. But seriously thought this book was awesome!! I have not read a book that teaches you the do’s and don’ts and was so on point with the knowledge. This book is certified gold. Now I can relate to knowing who is a ho or not but when Tonya Ayers broke it down I was shell shocked. I did not know that so many labels were out there. A woman is either a wifey, boo, bitch, or ho. With each title the author gives the definition and example. It’s like going to charm school. I must say this is a must read. The book isn’t long so ladies go get this book and your girls and determine if there is a ho amongst you. Guys go get this book and possibly help your self out. I am so excited about people reading this one. My only thing is it’s to short. Although there are websites listed in the back of the book for you to state your opinions and experiences. Don’t wait pass this book on.
only thing i wish the cover of the book was a bit more diverse. “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

I know it's meant as a joke but I'll e damned if soe women need to be asking the man instead of talking about the woman.

I hear ya Sis but you know that ain't what women do...they go after each other more often than not.
True story. I once had a case where one girl was getting a restraining order against the other because of some thug she was dating. Among other things, the girl had her electricity turned off and actually sent a hearse from the funeral home to pick her up. Both of these ladies were in college for cryin' out loud!
Here's a excerpt of the author answering questions about why she wrote the book...
It's an interesting topic and I agree that too many women give guys a pass by allowing themselves to be placed in certain positions.

Am I the only one bothered by the fact that the only "hoes" pictured are black?
Dont get me wrong...I know there are plenty of black hoes out there, but in my experience, there are plenty of hoes in all sizes, shapes and colors.
And yes...they need to learn their place. She has robes and she has monkeys, lazy diamond studded flunkies....

I'm not sure how much thought went into the book cover design but that is an interesting observation.
I would certainly want my cover to design to attract the broadest possible audience but some authors go for a niche market.
I don't think the cover was meant to imply that only black women are called hos but it can sure be interpreted that way. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Boy, some women sure hate each other.
- E-mail - orgNote - Report post to moderator |
Perhaps, but that answer is too easy...
Let's look at what the author is saying for a minute,
Is she making a valid point or not? Many of us know a woman who has created this type of drama or been the victim of it even if we haven't had the experience ourselves.
So what is the source of this hate, as you call it? Are women lashing out at each other rather than the man because neither one of them want to lose him? What makes women go to such lengths to keep a man even if he isn't their man to begin with? Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

If a women is willing to 'break the moral conduct rule' and sleep with somebody else's guy for her own personal reasons they why would she care about any other 'rules'?
Like there are levels of whoredom? One can be a "good" ho vs. a "bad" ho? A legitamate ho... who does the 'right' thing? A ho who knows her place?
Why can we just focus on the guy not being a ho and this wouldn't be a problem.

Ho! Ho! Ho! | |

Dammit, what took you so long...I was waiting for ya...
I dunno, maybe there are levels of whoredom...you have everything from escorts to call girls to streetwalkers and chickenheads,
But back on topic, we know what a guy "should" do but good luck with that, ya know. Of course, in any cheating scenario both cheaters are responsible but I'm wondering if more women nowadays are willing to be the side piece because good guys seem harder to come by? I have heard several women say they would rather share with wifey than be alone. I don't know if it's something new or just that the jump offs are more bold nowadays as the author suggests?
I'm just thinking out loud...help me out Sis, Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

All I know is that most broke heffas I know are willing to scout out men who are finacially secure and barter their bj skills for upgrading their furnishings.
I think this happens in an enviornment that tends to have a lower male-female ratio.
If women greatly outnumber the available men... then most men can opt to have a side piece if the wife is keeping her legs shut if she doesn't like her hubby's behavior. Instead of hubby compromising with his wife, he'll just sleep with his lonely co-worker or that chick at the bar wearing the really short skirt and do things for his wife out of guilt instead.
Meanwhile, if the sex with the jumpoff is better than the sex he has with his wife, then the jumpoff/ho/mistress will barter her sex for his gifts or money.
I was actaully encouraged to date a married man by several women (married women included) who owned a seedy nightclub, because they said I didn't have a husband so I should be a mistress in order to get things I need for my children.
Crazy!
I didn't date him and turned down all his advances.
I still ended up dating a married men who is legally separated... but still married.
Most men are taken after 40. Divorcees are hard to find.

See, I knew you wouldn't fail me,
We know perfectly well that there are women out there who do exactly those things that the author talks about. I dunno why people tryna be all coy about it.
I have also seen women do the exact same thing you just described, so while we know dude has an agenda, quite often, so does his side-piece.
I'm guessing that's what the author meant by saying a ho should stay in a ho's place because I have also talked to several married women who say that as long as their man doesn't disrespect his home or have his isht in their face they are willing to look the other way.
She is talking about women who allow themselves to be placed in certain situations and their deluded expectations.
I swear, I knew a girl who had a man for almost every bill she had...rent, car note, etc, etc. She did stay in her place though. Never called his house or did anything shady and she made out okay I guess.
But I'm like you...I believe in God bless the child who got his (or her) own. Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

IKR? I am greedy and do not like sharing dick with anyone.... it'll make me itch!
I also think that younger women are catching on to the older gal's game.
Older women would mostly treat men as pay checks... since most were already married or done playing housewife. But now younger more enterprising women who need to pay off their student loans and offset living expenses now venture into the pussy for profit business.
Few women I know sleep with other women's guys because of romantic reasons, its all about the $$$. For the most part... funny thing I know married women who cheat and put out to get stuff too.
In a bad economy I guess is more coochie for the guy who can keep his bills paid.

A good whore does not want to break the man's marriage up. If anything, she's going to make sure that wife doesn't find out about her because she doesn't want the wife out of the picture. A good whore gets that dick and that money and then sends the motherfucker home for the wife to put up with his bullshit. Being a whore is like being an aunt or uncle. You can always send the motherfuckers home when they start showing their ass. No honey, keep that stupid wife around and keep her ass happy. Andy is a four letter word.

I am not sure if understand the discussion.
Ho is short for whore, right?
And a whore is a woman or man who delivers sex for (little) money, right?
And Kardashian girls make their own money, don't they? They don't need to sleep with some guy to make money, now do they?
I think my neighbour married (ugly, fat, loud and has moneY) with a young girl (she had to go back to Suriname after her study) and they got a beautiful baby, because she saw an opportunity to have a decent life. She has a decent husband, not pretty, but one who provides for her, is nice, reasonable and who provides her with the opportunity to build up a life for herself. I don't call that a ho, I call than realistic and sensible.
I don't understand the hatred to women by man.
99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.
