So Here's A Trick I Found About Separating The Eggs,,,,

Thanks for posting, pretty smart indeed. The yolk full of cholesterol it's a no-no to me.

Its not even about cholesterol for me(which should be a factor) but I absolutely hate how it smells and taste.
Hell, when I cook the stuff that require egg, 3/4 of them don't need the yolk as an ingredient, and the other 1/4 that do, I could easily subsitute with other stuff.

that was so neat. thx! “Transracial is a term that has long since been defined as the adoption of a child that is of a different race than the adoptive parents,” : https://thinkprogress.org...fb6e18544a

I used to separate eggs by having the egg whites sit at the front of the bus.

I cracked an egg this morning and there was blood in it.
Threw that egg out!

all the nutrients you need from the eggs are in the yolk, not the whites much in comparison, what's bad is if you have eggs everyday, they say 2-3 times a week at most is fine for breakfast

Guilty!
Can't start the day without them, unfortunately. And I've heard this talk about how yolk is good for you, but you could easily compensate it by having other nutrients that could even healthier(e.g. green smoothie).

are those the new green eggs and ham?
I had eggs everyday too in my childhood and teen years, but found this out in my 20's when reading health articles online.

I eat eggs every day for breakfast, and after the latest news of artery hardening caused by yolks, I'm taking out yolks again with this:

I used to take out yolks a while back when I checked my cholesterol and it was something crazy like 200% past the high level 8 years ago. Stopping eggs and steaks brought it back down.
Then I lapsed the last few years.
But now I'm back to it. It's too bad, because the tolk does have other stuff besides protein, but I think it's also like Elmers Glue in your blood. My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Y'all are crazy - the yolk is the best part.
The yolk is where the bulk of the nutrition is in an egg. It contains the egg's entire content of vitamins A, D, E, K, and essential fatty acids - and almost all of the B vitamins.

This!
I eat at least one egg a day, including the yolk and my cholesterol levels are perfect.

Thats great and all, I'll gladly have it when somebody uploads a video or provide a solution for the yolk's vile smell/taste.
But untill then, I'll settle with my fruit basket, omega-3 and whatever substitutes that won't make my stomach turns. [Edited 8/28/12 7:24am]

To be honest, I don't really care for eggs - I have textural issues with the whites. (I don't eat mushrooms or ham, either - they have the same kind of spongey, rubbery texture.)
I will eat eggs in a frittata or scrambled loosely, but there has to be a lot of other stuff to mask them. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

I don't know what you're talking about with the smell or taste of egg yolks. It's the white that contains the sulfur - which is what makes hard-boiled eggs stink. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That's why I have them with loads of bacon every morning!

I make a smoothie for breakfast most days. It's a great way to load up on tons of nutrients. I grind up either kale or spinach in them and I usually throw flax seed meal in there, too. Then it's all about tasty frozen fruit combinations to make it delicious.
I often have eggs with the smoothie so I can have some protein to keep me feeling full longer.
And, in regards to the original topic: God, I love eggs. The yolk, the whites, sunny side up, scrambled, in an omelet, a fritatta, you name it. And I can't even begin to imagine how many raw eggs I've eaten in my lifetime in cookie dough and cake batter. I'm sure that number would be staggering.

I'm living proof that eating a lot of cholesterol will raise your cholesterol. And I mean with lab results and actual measurement of what I was eating with a drastic change. And I mean a drop of over twice the levels in my blood.
There was a time when I was eating aggs and steak every day. Then I got my cholesterol checked and the doctor was really alarmed. I was over twice the upper end of the harmful limit. We double checked with a new test too a week later.
I stopped steak and yolks for two months and it went down within the normal range but still high. So yes I don't process cholesterol well and have high levels, but if I eat stuff with tons of it, my levels go off the charts. Literally.
And yolks have always been very suspect to include some very harmful materials as well as nutrients. Recently this came out (Egg yolks accelerate atherosclerosis): My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Exactly.
Eggs (hard -boiled) ONLY stink if the egg is over cooked. The iron rich components of the yolk overheat and mixes with the protein components of the egg white and it causes the whites to smell like sulfur.
Egg yolks do NOT stink on their own unless the egg itself is bad. You know you have a bad egg when it floats in water. The good eggs sink.
Don't overcook your eggs and they won't smell.

Try just putting a couple raw egg yolks (not the whites) in a smoothie or milkshake. Makes it super rich and yummy.

Trying to cut my cholesterol, so I don't eat a lot of eggs.

Interesting, no denying that. But, imnaaho, if you can't crack an egg in half and pour the yolk back and forth as the white drops into a dish below your ass needs to get out of the kitchen.

Or if that's too tough, just pour the egg into your hand and let the white run between your fingers. Effective - and cheap. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

That's a good idea! I've been experimenting like mad with my smoothies, seeing what works and what doesn't. I find that I like them thick, so that I have to eat them with a spoon, and a little bit of papaya works wonders in making the texture I like.

Using berries straight out of the freezer helps with thickening, too.
Of course, if you use flax meal, it'll turn to concrete in about 5 seconds. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
