Question of the day (death) ......

Why are so many people afraid to talk about death? We can talk about love, life, sex and even God, but when it comes to death, everybody gets errie about and nobody really speaks of it, why is that?

Well... the way I see it is, you know you gon' die, even if you don't want to the day will come, the only time people really talk about is when it's already to late or when it's close to that time, I think that's ashame. I think it's important for a family to talk about death, especailly to Kids, cuz kids always wonder about it, you know. I remember when I was smaller my gold fish died, I had alot of question to ask my mom but she never really answered, so I use to wonder all the time what it was like. When it was time for me to go to bed I would lay still like I was in a coffin just to see if I could see how it felt like lol Then I would get all scared and stop doing it lol lol am I alone on this smile ?

I guess no one speaks of Death because of the seeming finality of it. Death is inevitable and know one knows what to expect and that it comes to all living things. That fact that Death WILL happen is scary enough to not talk about the issue.

Speaking of Death, I read a science article recently that talked about what happens when the universe stops expanding (basically the death of the universe).

One scientist theorizes that time will cease and everything that exists in the universe (including the universe itself) will be nothing more than a faint ghostly image of itself.
Another theory is that after expanding, the universe will start to contract and the universe will ultimately be reduced to nothing.

I talked about this with a friend of mine. It's hard enough to accept the fact that one day I will die, but it's almost impossible to comprehend that one day NOTHING will exist not even the concept of "nothing". I guess it makes me sad to think that if there is indeed life elsewhere, there has to be love and hate elsewhere, compassion and cruelty elsewhere, beauty and ugliness elsewhere, war and peace and the like, all these things that I believe exist in some form will stop. Forever.

That's scary.

I'm not afraid to die, I use to be when I was younger, but the closer I got 2 God, the less I became fearful of death, I mean I don't want to die and if I had my choice I would want to die when I'm all old and cripsy, but when it's my time to go it's just my time to go, cuz then I have to do my service in the hearafter nod

I've got no problems talking about death, it's just that I don't know much about the subject.
