About 10 months. Running fine a Linux setup that I put together myself from various different sources.

Before that I had a PC that I got myself in 2002. So I was using that one for 9 years. It even had parts from the mid-90s on it. Worked just fine until I wasn't able to update the virus protection programs for Windows as the newer versions of the freely available ones clashed terribly with the video card I was using. What a terrible experience with Windows that was.

My Macbook, is going on 8 years old and runs like a champ, the same goes for my 6 year old, IMac.

My Macs are great, too. I don't see why I would replace them - I'll just keep updating the OS and run them into the ground. The technology will have evolved into something new by then, anyway. shrug

They run the same way now, as they did when I first got them all those ago. Beautifully built machines...

I have a computer that I bought with my income tax money in 2008 that is used strictly to store my music and has never had internet on it before and never will. I figure with no internet ever touching it EVER, there should be no way that it will ever get a virus and it should last a long time....hopefully.

I have a laptop that I bought with my income tax money in 2009 that I use strictly for internet. I plan on running both of them until they won't run no more because income tax time is the only time I ever have extra money and I have more bills now than I had then and no credit cards anymore for emergency backup. lol

My desk top is 9 years old, going on 10 (I never use it).

I still have my stero system from when I was young 1990? I am on my third CD player for it though. But records, cassettes (if I wanted to play any) play fine. Did I mention it was the floor model. I think I have gotten my monies worth.

Yes, I still play Cd's. I do have An IPOD that I use when I workout.

I have a Mac about 4 years old?

99.9% of everything I say is strictly for my own entertainment
