i am using a borrowed computer 4 now

its running on windows 98!!!!!

And when i'm done with it........ well i dont think they want it back

My laptop at home is going on 5-6 years old. So not quite as bad. But it's definitely time to consider a new one.

Nope. I already have two old ass computers [but "this one" I'm on right now is my laptop that's only a year old....& it has Windows 7 ]

Never mind that computer....I'd take some more of those Cherry Ripe though

Impressive for sure.

I use to take great pride in wringing the last drop of usefullness of a computer, now its just too tedious. Computer companies always change some stuff to force you to upgrade at somepoint.

Home Stereo = 2003, still works fine, it has trouble reading some burned Cds though

DVD = 2005 I think

Pentium IV Windows XP = late 2001 (new hard disk drive in 2009, DVD in 2007)

mp3 = 2009

dual core laptop = 2011

when I read that, I felt that weird/funny bittersweet feeling which told me that the things that were so fresh, wild and NEW back in the day are now RELICS...

My Macbook, is going on 8 years old and runs like a champ, the same goes for my 6 year old, IMac.

i have tons of old stuff. antiques, and memorobilia from when i was little, furniture from my grandmas. i love my old stuff so much i still wear clothes i had in high school, and ithey're "in" again

My Macs are great, too. I don't see why I would replace them - I'll just keep updating the OS and run them into the ground. The technology will have evolved into something new by then, anyway.

Mine's 4 years old on XP... I'd probably update in the future but Vista and Windows 7 have gotten mixed reviews lol

I have my great-grandmother's rocking chair (made by my great-grandfather), a wash stand from my grandma, and an Eastlake dresser that I bought, myself.

I also have lace that my grandma crocheted (and dresser scarves that she embroidered), and quilts that my grandma and great-grandma made for me.

But my most prized possessions are probably the paintings my other grandma did.

I feel so lucky to come from a family of "makers."
