I am much nicer in person than I am on here because a lot of people here piss me off. If I want to meet you in real life, I'm usually flirting or gushing over how incredibly wonderful you are.

The people who would know the most are my Europeans, KoolEaze and Tremolina. Even though we are a great distance aprt, they are the orgers I feel the closest to.

Thank you so much, that is a great compliment. You know how I feel about you!

I'm basically the same online as I am offline. A person that likes to talk a lot of shit, have a lot of fun, be free and be myself and if I'm loved by people, that's fine, and if there are those that don't like it, fuck 'em.

The only difference between me at the org and in person is the way I handle assholes. I live in the South and my way if thinking is in the extreme minority down here. I'm as liberal as you can get and even the most conservative orger is not nearly as conservative as the South. In person around the conservatives, I'm basically totally myself as far as my sexuality goes with my appearance and gestures and have practically flaunted it in their faces for years. The only difference here is I don't confirm nor deny it and let them think whatever the hell they want and dare them to say anything out of line (basically the "Prince Technique"). When I'm asked, I don't deny because that would be hypocritical and cowardly and I don't confirm either. The reason I don't confirm it is because that's what they want to hear and down here, just saying the mere words "Yes, I'm gay" to one of those assholes is extremely humorous to them and I don't believe in being a clown for an enemy. I believe in pissing an enemy off by saying something that neither confirms nor denies it like...."Why? Are you interested in getting together later?". See, I'm basically the same as at the org. An absolute bitch that absolutely has to be the one to come out on top and get the last laugh. The only difference is, different types of people require different techniques. It's fine to be around like minded folks and be "laughed with" but don't never be a clown for enemies to "laugh at". Turn the tables and piss them off. evillol As for the "black thing", I've been totally myself since 1979 and flaunted that in their faces ever since. That was different though because black folks had my back. When it comes to the "gay thing" though, there's dumbasses of every race so nobody has your back so assholes that are black have to be handled in the same manner that an ignorant redneck would be handled. Like I said before, how I handle myself is according to the type of people I'm dealing with. Whatever technique puts me on top and not the enemy. evillol

What are some techniques used to no be real on the internet? Besides something obvious like using other people's pictures.

For example, you can be a prude/reserved in real life but open/forward online.

Or vice-versa.

You can present yourself as a straightforward & level-headed individual online, while in RL you don't know whether you're coming or going.

You can portray yourself as being wealthy/successful online, while in RL you're living in your momma's basement.

There's much, much more.

This is the only site that I participate in. I'm not on facebook or any of that. There is no way that anyone can interact with me unless they email me. Laura Levesque is not my real name so I do feel free to just say whatever the hell I want, so yes, I am honest on here. Probably if I were using my real name I would hold back. Actually, I would definately hold back!!

My entire life is on FB. My pics, family, garden, likes...dislikes...political views, etc. Not hiding or trying to be someone else. My pics are here too. I say what I feel but I would say I'm more open here. In person I'm quiet and like to be alone.

I'm fairly tranparent in my online identity... lol. Meaning it's pretty easy to track me down and see my facebook or other posts elsewhere. Or even get to my resume.

this is really me on all levels and detail.

I'm the real deal. Only difference is, IRL I'm very nasty to folks who annoy me. I've toned it down here so I won't get banned. Otherwise I'd really go off, like I do at other sites where anything goes.

i don't pretend to be someone I'm not here. That said, I think as a function of the medium, all of our online communication benefits from a certain lead time wherein we better pick our battles and can come up with more pointedly articulated responses. We can even edit or altogether withdraw our clumsier moments. It's the difference between "recorded" and "live" performance, more or less -- and those simply are rarely, if ever, identical.

You said what I was thinking. nod

I am the same online as I am in real life, but sometimes I need to hit 'delete' or walk away from my computer to avoid saying what is on my mind, whereas sometimes in real life it just comes out. lol

I am the complete opposite.

IRL, my mind shuts down in a heated exchange and I tend to walk away whereas in the cyberworld I can clearly compose my thoughts and stand my ground in an argument.

True, but I do that to a certain extent in real life too. I'm not sure if I've always done it or if it's something I picked up over years of online-only communication. My boyfriend accuses me of "editing" myself all the time. I just take a minute or two to think through what I want to say before I say it. This doesn't mean what I'm saying isn't genuine, only that I'm carefully choosing how to communicate what I want.

I had a "verbal altercation" on Friday night, in which I just stopped and walked away until I could get my thoughts together. My mind was filled with thoughts that I knew would not have been good if they had surfaced....

Although I'm can be quite sarcastic in real life like I am on here, I'm actually very conservative, quiet and reserved. I have no issues with stating my opinions, even if they are unpopular, both on here and in real life. I'm a pretty easy going guy but, like on the org, I don't put up with any bull shit and I will wipe up the floor with anyone who is disrespectful to me.fryingpan
