I tried doing it OL'SHKOOL style by tanning with baby oil and cinnamon, yup burnt my ass up when I went on vacation down south... my skin did the same. I wear large brimmed hats when I garden but I still tend to tan when I hit the beach.

Oh and my skin turnmed a deep unusual olive color when I tan poolside making my shade look damn green. Yes, GREEN skin. So I stay away from pools and clorine.

Every chance I get, even though my body doesn't process heat well and I get wicked heat rash, but I love laying out.

I know you are not supposed to, I use sunscreen but to achieve a tan that lasts rather than prevent tanning.

Shirt comes off in the summer, so it has stayed on so far in the UK

I've probably laid out in the sun 5 times in my life and all of that was in high school. I am white as a damn ghost and happy to be that! It's so bad for your skin!

i used to love to lay out, now i get too hot. Still tan fat is better than white fat

Yup. Not only that...but it should be a cautionary photo for younger people who think that tans are attractive... The comparison of the daughter's skin to the mother's skin... I remember going to the beaches in Florida when I was eighteen and seeing tanned white people like that whose skin looked like wrinkled rawhide leather and I decided then that I wouldn't end up looking like that... So far, I don't. Not to mention skin cancer...

BTW people with dark skin can burn and get skin cancer also...for the ignoramuses who thought they couldn't.
