I could go on ... and on !

I am surrounded by really wonderful people ...

Family, friends, and so on

There is NOT often a day that goes by that another within this arena doesn't do some sort of random NICE thing

That's just how my circle rolls !

My sister stabbed me with needles on Sunday - and then put some tacks in my ankles that I wore for two days. touched

I've been blessed this past year or so, with a wonderful "clan" of friends (in RL and on the Org) who have gotten me through some really rough patches.

Getting invited for dinner at my friends' places or out somewhere are always a welcome surprise.

Getting a free (used) Thinkpad for junior recently was nice (even though we're missing the password so I need to figure that minor detail out).

Getting a Welcome 2 Australia concert T-shirt in the mail was very nice! wink

I'm really appreciating the positivity being thrown my way, and hope I can repay in kind whenever possible.

Yesterday my mommy brought me some pastelon

http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2376/3584922859_2a9ff95be7.jpg

it's a lasagne made with sweet plantain, meat, olives, oinion, pimento and tons of cheeses (provolone, mozeralla and goat cheeses).... it is so rich and sweet, she makes it perfectly were she keeps it as ungreasy as possible because it is an oily dish.

It was really good, but I can only eat that stuff once every 4 years or so... just to remember. lol

Today we got out with my mom's kitty to get kitty his first set of shots.... biggrin

She likes me to accompany her to translate even though she speaks fluent English. lol

I have people around me that do nice things for me all the time but the last really sweet thing I can think of is after having a really hard week - two flat tires in 3 days, work totally sucked - my now ex drove into town, surprised me at work with a dozen roses and completely and totally pampered me all weekend.

It was wonderful.

I've never had Pastelon! drool

...but I thought it was a Dominican dish...?

There's a typical Honduran dish called "Tapado" that's a stew with dried beef & coconut milk & miscellaneous vegetables. It's such a heavy dish, that I had some about 14 years ago when an aunt came to visit, and I think I FINALLY digested all of it and am ready for another bowl!

lol

I am pretty sure Dominicans make a variation of this dish this also, both cultures are simliar and cook lots of the same stuff. nod

Oh and falloff !!!!

Tapado sounds delish! drooling

Yeah pastelon will make you a diabetic and give you a heart attack in one stroke if you aren't careful, and this is why I only like to eat this dish once every 4 years or so...

eek lol

I'd been eyeing this very expensive, but very unique and beautiful clock at a specialty store. The person I was with, found not the exact same clock but one that was so similar and unique and gave it to me. T'was sweet.

hmmm...I'm usually the one who organizes nice shit for others. hmm

Just last month, a co-worker was going on her first flight and first cruise for her 50th birthday.

I organized the others and said....can we buy this girls' DRANKS on her cruise?????

We collected $200.

I've been on a cruise....them $10 margaritas add up!

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

A couple of weeks ago, I was having a rough few weeks at work, working on project after project after project. I seemed to stay afloat, got those projects done in addition to handling my day to day duties as well, and mind you, this was in the middle of the week and I still had about 3 more projects to go. I go into my supervisor's office, damn near ready to vent because I was stressed and exhausted when she tells me that my boss was awarding me with a bonus to show appreciation for all of the hard work that I had been doing. It was so unexpected that I almost had tears in my eyes, but I didn't cry. I was very surprised and felt appreciated. wink

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

@PJ: hug

My friends support me, while I try to get my old place in order so it's ready for tennants (who hopefully want to move in soon). And I'm trying to get my new house ready so I can move in. My friends are wonderful.

Yesterday, my neighbour put me on the guestlist for the Roots concert. And it was a spectacular concert.

I'm grateful for the wonderful people around me.

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

On my birthday on the 23rd....my girl came by with a pack of smokes, a j, and a bj....that was very nice of her....plus....the couple downstairs from me always cooks too much and they offer me a plate of.dinner almost every night....that saves me sooooo much money! Plus, they don't like to smoke alone....so they always come to my place to use my bong...and smoke me out while they're at it.
