I know the camera plays tricks on the eye, but this really messes me up. Especially "male" movie stars....it's like they all belong to the "little people" club!

Yes! A lot of these people look huge on TV, but in person they are little and short. It's very weird. It's also funny to me since I've been unfortunately called "skinny" forever by folks in real life, yet in Hollywood land I would be considered obese.

I've met or walked past a few Actors, Musicians or famous people(mainly walked pass).

Eddie Griffin and Robin Williams were smaller than i would have thought. Tom Selleck was taller than i expected but he was also slimmer(skinny legs). Danny Allieo was taller and bigger than i expected and the serial killer Richard Ramirez looks taller in person than he looks on tv.

Donatella Versace was butt ugly. I know shocking but it was surprising how really really U G L Y she was.

Why are cartoons humongous in real life as mascots, and "big" stars are midgets?

Yeah, they're usually pretty small.

The exceptions for me have been Conan O'Brian, Will Smith, and Malik Yoba. Those dudes are gargantuan, especially Conan.

Henry Rollins was tiny (or smaller than expected)... Matthew McConaughey is actually tall and bigger than you imagine. I'm talking about their height and mass people... get your mind up out of there.

Yeah, guess so. Especially if it is a woman....not that I've met many famous women, mostly dudes.

Haven't really met any celebs in real life.

We waited for John Leguizamo after a show and shook hands with him.

I'm barely pushing 5'-7" standing tall, so he seemed "normal" to me.

I saw Rev. Al Sharpton at JFK once. Seemed normal as well.

The first time I saw Prince not up on a stage, I was shocked at how tiny he is. I mean...I knew he was short (who doesn't?), but I still wasn't prepared for him to be so...slight. He looks like he could be carried off by a stiff breeze.

Sometimes, but sometimes not.

Melanie Griffith was definitely not small, but when I saw her (about 1990) I was shocked at how hot she looked!

Sam Kinison, on the other hand...

Jenna Jameson was about the only person I thought about how small they were.

I was a moose next to Prince, I was only a size 10 at the time. I am 5' 4.5"...

Sigournet Weaver shocked me... she is TALL. She looked "normal" on screen...

what I did see whay that she had nice skin, and so does Steve Tyler... but in pictures they look old and haggered and their pictures do them both no justice.

Yep Prince is small, I was shocked. I think I'm more shocked on how regular looking some of them are. I don't know what I'm expecting but some look like normal folks.

omg, some of those cement feet/handprints in hollywood.. so disapointed at some of the bloke's shoe size.. devastated actually
