Supernova would be proud Today, I went on a music splurge and bought, among other things, Stevie Wonder's "Talking Book," "Innervisions" and "Songs in the Key of Life." Which should I listen to first? I want to do it right.
I also got The Smiths' "The Queen is Dead" and Michael Jackson's "Dangerous" special edition. Isn't splurging great?

I was with you right until you mentioned that you bought Micheal Jackson.

This is SUCH a remarkable splurge, Moonie! You damn right I AM PROUD! Regardless of which one you listen to first, do this:
When you get to Stevie's albums, start off chronologically. Start with Talking Book, then Innervisions (my favorite), then SITKOL This is SUCH A GREAT DAY!!! Moonbeam This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.

listen to them chronologically... then you can hear stevie grow with each album... ... That was my thought too. I think it works with Prince, so why not Stevie? He seems to be an artist who changes a lot with time, so it would probably make most sense to listen to them in order.

speaking of Stevie... i've noticed "at the close of the century" (or is it millenium?) at Best Buy pretty cheap.
is this his best collection? is it a good way to get into him? or is there another better one?

is this his best collection? is it a good way to get into him? or is there another better one? Only if you just want mainly the big hits. Me personally, I like the remastered albums better. Mainly because there is no new material on the box set, no outtakes, no live cuts...so essentially you get the deep cuts along with the hits on the remasters. This post not for the wimp contingent.
