HELP! - How would you handle this situation? Noisy neighbours.
We all have them or have had them at some point I'm sure. I live in blocks of flats. I live on an end 2nd floor flat and the noisy ones live on the first floor middle. For months now, mainly in the evenings, my life in my home is invaded by what sounds like my downstairs neighbours switching off gravity in their flat and all their furniture banging and crashing about against walls, ceilings and floors. Doors are slammed, shouting goes on at times, which doesn't bother me so much actually... It's the fucking banging and crashing - it drives me insane sometimes. The thing I'm asking help for is, how on earth do I approach them about this? I am worried either I will become timid and not get my point across in an assertive way, or I'll say something that may offend and then end up ranting. The latter is probably very unlikely, yet is a possibility if they tell me to piss off or something. I've had enough of the noises and want to speak with them about it but I am scared. The next move is to contact the local authorities, but I'd want a complaint to be directed to me so I could do something about it, rather than being grassed up immediatly, hence why I am wanting to put it to them before I contact the local authority. Help!! How can I put it?!

The best thing 2 do I think, is just 2 write them a friendly note saying could they keep the noise down and post it under their door/letterb box, that way U may get what U want, and then they also wont know it was U.

Hmmm, yes, I have thought about posting a note, and saying it is from me though. I want them to know who it is from. I think it is important. Anonymity may breed more anger. I don't want more noise! I have 2 choices. Note, or face to face.

Speak directly to the noise offenders first b4 going to any authorites. This has happened to me and I found the simple request of 'could you please keep the noise down after a certain time...' worked fine. Also, find out if other tennants in your block of flats feel the same way. If so, then you won't have to face the noise makers alone.

i know this problem well...the thing is they may not realise that when they shut the doors...it is heard through the whole building. ok that makes them thick cos a bang is a bang but you gotta think as simply as possible.
write them a note telling them that you thought you should let them know that the walls in the block are very thin and that you aplogise every time you bang a door shutor make any noise. Write the same note to everyone in the building also saying if anyone has any problems to feel thats they can speak to their neighbours about any noise that seeps through the walls! This should make them think twice if they are regular moral citizans. if not and they continue to be antisocial and selfish...call the environmental health (they are extremely help ful). Get the noise monitered and get a court order...with a whopping fine. That should shut the f$"&ers up! How, i'm gonna make that booty boom...step back, give a girl some room....OH

call the landlord or the cops. don't tell them what apartment number you're in, just to be sure that it's anonymous.
