DEAD CAT turned into a Helicopter
http://gawker.com/5915445...ng-machine
What would you do?
I simply would creamate them and sprinkle them in the ocean.
But then again, it would be interesting to see them fly in the sky I guess.
Fromt the article: After his beloved cat Orville was tragically run over by a car, Dutch artist Bart Jansen thought long and hard how to honor his late feline's memory. And then it hit him:Turn his taxidermied corp...helicopter.
After all, Orville was named after Orville Wright, so it only made sense to pay homage to the pet by having RC helicopter enthusiast Arjen Beltman attach propellers to his cold, dead paws.

That is even more useless than a living cat. But as long as there are no hairballs or cat boxes, I am all for it. My Legacy

Pretty morbid.
I had to laugh at the absurdity of it, but if he's really thinking that he's somehow "honoring" the cat he needs to seek help.
Oh, but he's an artist. | |

Psssh. I was doing this with frogs YEARS ago.
Of course, none of my frogs ever successfully flew. But they tried. Oh, how they tried.

If it was 3D, it wouldn't be so bad. Or if we could reach into our screens and pet it, it would be great.

Didn't know you were an artist. 99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

I'm sorry, but it's not.
It's one of the pieces at the current art fair in Amsterdam.
I think it's a cheap rip of from one of my favorite Dutch artists Tinkerbell.
She made a statement about using animal skin for bags, while there are other fabrics available. She used the skin of her dead cat to make a bag. She's the true creative one. This guy is just copied her 'strategy'. She is genuine though, was the first to do it and cause controversy.
And I still think she's right because it was the controversy that lead to a discussion about using animal skin whilst other fabrics can be used, without killing animals.
It's funny how people who eat meat daily, knowing about the horrible meatindustry, and at the same time these carnivors do get upset over a cat that was loved and died of natural causes. hypocrite imo.

Yeah, but you didn't turn those frogs into fashionable purses.
Missed opportunity for artistic career.
