talk to the hand

...not NEARLY as cool as my old game from the 80's...still have it somewhere in my parents' garage I think...

It was a tic-tac-to game where you'd play against the "chicken".

Now you made me want to go find it...

omg spit what the F does that do?????? falloff

and

:talk2thehand: this is not an 80's thread

show off hmph!

lol

You played tic-tac-toe against that mechanical chicken.

It actually clucked, moved and "pecked" at the board in front of it.

I threw in the 80s because, well quite honestly, the 90s sucked.

razz

wow, like...everything?

1.My grandparents/father, the house of my grandfather

2.The state of the world (they called it New World Order then; now we're going back to the 19thCentury, but with better technology)

3.Music (organic rock, real hip-hop, tolerable modern R&B, many great new bands, golden age of electronic music, 60's-70's revival)

4.Films (great actors/actresses/directors of the 70´s and 80's still doing films, moderate use of CGI)

5.the thrill of being a kid/young teen and how life/society impresses/awes you, before it slaps you in the face some years later

2.Sex

3.Videogames and Internet

4.People at least being aware of the climatic change and the fragile state of the Earth

5.Money (yeah, I know things are worse than ever, at least since the early-70's, but nowadays I have money, during the 90's I didn't, lol)

overall I think things were "good" in the 60's, bad/very bad in the 70's, bad or good (depending on many factors) in the 80's, and then finnlly "good" again in the 90's, before everything went to hell again...

1. Decent music (1990-1995)

2. Decent TV shows (before reality shows became the norm)

2. The fact that you could leave your job one day and get hired somewhere else a couple days later.

3. Being able to go into an employer, talk to a real person and fill out a job application instead of filling it out online and hoping you'll get a call.

4. People not putting their entire lives on the internet for the world to see

5. When Saturday Night Live was still funny.

That's not the original Jerry Springer Show. When his show first aired, it was completely different than what it became. It was a legitimate serious talk show similar to Donahue with actual topics and a middle aged audience who asked the guest actual questions rather than making a silly insult toward the guest trying to get a laugh from a bunch of idiots in the audience. There was none of that college kid audience egging on fighting and bullshit like gutter trash. When he changed it and all the fights began, it was obvious that he himself was egging them on and I always hoped that while the fights were occurring, that Jerry Springer himself would get caught in the middle and get his own ass beat because he would sure deserve it.
