The drugs. More specifically, doing drugs without feeling like there would be consequences. And really having fun doing them. They're not fun for me anymore and haven't been for over a decade now.

Videos on Mtv.

Going to concerts. My town used to get all of the rock bands on their tours but something happened in the 2000s. They all stopped coming which makes me think our city did something to make it not worth it for them to come. For once, I would like to not have to travel to go to concerts in my adulthood.

Hot long haired guys.

My nose ring. My job kept busting my balls about taking it out on my shift so I don't think it healed properly. I would like to have it redone but I have allergies and am not sure it would a good idea.

My first apartment and feeling brand new. It is where I really learned how to cook, clean, decorate. True, it was small and the kitchen was a teeny, tiny space on the wall but I felt so safe. I have many good memories connected to that apartment.

I miss the way the company I work for used to be - before we were swallowed up by the bigger companies that have pretty much destroyed us.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Real Hip Hop.

Good RnB music.

I know there´s still a lot of good music out there if you really look for it but come on, I know you still listen to stuff from the earlier decades. wink

Good music channels (MTV, VIVA, radio stations that cared about music).

Other than that, not really much. Maybe cheaper gas and nicer looking cars. But a lot of things are so much better in the here and now, including the way people look. I think being younger today has its perks, too, despite all the things the younger generation is missing out on.

" I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

In no particular order:

1) Record stores: There were two that were my favorite, one called Tracks and one called Peaches. I would go to Peaches every Tuesday to get the latest issue of Billboard to see where Prince's latest music was charting or grab a 12 inch single...I had so much disposable cash back then.

2) Living at the dorm: For three years I roomed in a four person dorm apartment that had half international and half American students. I learned so much about people and did so so many stupid things. Whether it was getting wated on MD 20 20 and watching Beavis and Butthead at three in the morning or heading to Charlotte to catch Midnight Oil and Ziggy Marley just because I could. I managed to pass a class every now and then and was not getting laid in the slightest but it was the time of my life.

3) Sitcoms at their peak: With all due respect to the great sitcoms of the 80s, there was nothing quite like following Friends, Seinfeld, and Frasier at their peak.

4) Cowboys winning Super Bowls: Haven't won one since 1997...LOOOOONNNNNGGGG dry spell.

5) The awkward courtship of my future wife: Our first date was a blind date at the Rhythm Nation stop in Columbia, SC.Stuck in the friend zone for half on the 90s and then one day, bam, things changed. So much effort went into convincing her that I could be more and though we have had a rough time or two I am so grateful that I have her in my life.

All good things they say never last...

Another thing I missed is watching people make VHS tapes for me to watch my favorite movies. biggrin

Eating pizza while watching the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because if you wasn't eating pizza while watching, you wasn't about that life... seriously. Gotta have pizza with TMNT either before, during or after. nod

Raves/Parties. The real shit; in warehouses, dive bars, back alleys, barns, forrests and at the beach. Not in swanky ass, sparkly clubs.

The Grateful Dead.

Regular Aphex Twin releases.

Constantly discovering new music by buying a piece of vinyl just because it looked interesting. Now I learn about stuff online first and only buy what I really want to have forever.

Monthly Sandman and Cerebus comic books.
