Okay- Some of you know, my dog was in the hospital and I now have a $4000 bill to pay. (Which I don't bedgrudge at all because they saved her life- I would gladly pay a million) anyway, my friend tells me the only way to make that kind of money fast is nude modeling. I'm no spring chicken and I surely am not into anything like that but my friend says that there's a market for all kinds of models and that it can be tastefully done. I can't believe I'm considering it but I don't know how else to pay this enormous bill. It feels so icky but then again, if I look at it like a business sort of deal.....I don't know.....Is this awful for me to even be considering?

I think there's got to be some other way to come up with $4,000 before taking all your clothes off. Why not set up a payment plan with the vet first and see what other options you have before you even think about going au naturel.

It's only skeevy if you do it when you really don't want to. You need to make sure this is something you can live with after doing it because it will follow you for the rest of your life. And remember, the org has some good detectives. Are you comfortable with ending up in a NSFW thread here on the org?

Are you able to make a payment plan with the animal hospital? I racked up over $1000 on a vet bill and I was able to make arrangements.

Actually, yes the hospital has been fantastic and did set up a payment plan but (hopefully not) but she may need future care, one thing, an MRI which is 1700 more dollars. And even with my payment plan (which I surely appreciate them setting up) I'll be cutting it beyond close - I thought about getting a second job because the one I have pays me basically in wooden nickels, but if I worked two jobs I'd never be home with her and she needs me here as much as possible. In the end, I would probably not go through with it and it definately is not who I am but it was the onlly thing I could think of doing that I could knock out real quick and make some cash.

As far as "skeevy' things go, I think being a stripper is far lower than nude modeling.

Appearing in porn is not a wise move unless you are really into pornography yourself.

I don't know what you look like. If you have a nice body you may be able to do some decent pics that do not show all your lady bits. If I had Dita Von Teese's body I might have opted to be more open about sharing my body with the world then I have been.

I would certainly NEVER do porn- no matter what - and stripping would never be for me because I couldn't be NEAR strange men- ugh- but with sending in some pics and getting a check- as long as they are Super tasteful- that I would (and have been) considering. I have been the photographer doing nude photography (Not porn people!!!) and if done right can be tasteful. As for the price for the models, generally a nude model in an art class can get $30-$40 hour.(Probably more in big cities.)

Portrait nude models for photographer can be $100 to $300 a session. Far from a large sum you where thinking.

However, yes, there are plenty of photogaphers who are looking to all different types of models to shoot in various states of undress. You might not even have to be nude. And these are legit, sometimes very well know, photographers. Do a web search for some photographers in your area and see what you find. The most important thing is that you find a photographer who wants to shoot your who does the kind of work you're willing to pose for. The biggest problem you would have is that newer models make less money no matter what kind of work you're doing.

Also, check out someone like Katlyn Lacoste. http://katlynlacoste.tumblr.com/ She's travels the world working as a model, almost always nude. That's her profession. She works with people ranging from the most well known high fashion photographers down to middle of the street in the suburbs amatures. Now, she ain't ugly, but she certainly isn't a "glamour model". Just a regular girl who genuinely enjoys posing nude for photographers. She doesn't do porn, hard cores, sexual poses, or even glamour, really. Just poses nude. IMO, this is not skeevy, or icky, or anything else other than artistic.

Lastly, I've had two girlfiends who've posed nude. Both of them did the same kind of stuff Katlyn does. One of them has pictured out there on the internet for everyone to see. They will be there forever, or until the internet ceases to exist, which may be after we're gone. That's something to consider. But also keep in mind that nobody is likely to ever know if you don't tell them.

But like I said, if it feels wrong, don't do it.

Right. I have no problem with tasteful nude photography- I DO have a problem with it being on the internet for the end of time ! So, think about the long-term consequences of what you're looking to do.

If you pursue modeling for art classes in a college...or you pursue modeling for soft porn...or whatever...HOW will you see yourself ten years from now, after this debt is a distant memory? What if someone you know sees one of your images?

Good luck whatever you do.

A payment plan is obviously the easier option.

Try starting a donation site, then asking for donations.

People do some very generous things for strangers if they get a compelling story.

I did that but no one donated. BUT that's fine because, my dog, my bill. In fact, I feel skeevier asking for donations than nude modeling! I was just hoping Ellen Degeneres might run across my page and donate but no such luck

I have no objection to nude modeling if tastefully done- but as for soft porn- I'm not into porn in any kind of way and have no interest whatsoever in anything going that route.

My dilema is; I have a job but already live paycheck to paycheck, I could get a second but then will never see my dog and she may be having neurological issues (we're still not sure- she still needs the MRI) she just began having seizures unexpectedly and some other things and so, needs me at home as much as possible, which is why I considered the nude modeling thing, you know, knock it out quick and make more money faster than I would at a Walgreens second shift, you know?

Oh well, in the end I would probably never do it, just wanted some feed back- Thanks
