I'm not quite at the recommended age to get a colonoscopy, but I remember a little over ten years ago I was cycling daily around my neighborhood, and I developed some serious saddle sores around my groin area, but the pain was most intense right around my pubic muscles. I went to see the doctor about this just to make sure I wasn't developing a prostate issue early on. The doctor had to probe my anus with his finger just to make sure. It sure wasn't very comfortable to say the least. Fortunately, I was just making my public muscle too sore, and he told me to lay off the bike riding for a few days.

But if you think a colonoscopy is so invasive, just think of what all the ladies have to go through for their pelvic exams. They have to go through far more poking and prodding of their private areas then we guys can imagine. (And that's just if they live in a progressive state that cares about women's health. Imagine what they have to go through in some backwater state with a Tea Party Republican governor. ) As crappy as it sounds, it's far better to get poked and prodded and checked up now and get a clean bill of health instead of putting it off and finding yourself getting malignant tumors later that spread throughout your body.
