You will have such a great time!

It's one of my favorite countries for holidays. It has the beautiful city Istanbul, great nature and culture and if you just want to party and hang out on the beach, it's there for you, garanteed good weather.

I really love Turkey. And Turkish food: Börek or köfte or Lahmacun..........

I really, really, want to go to Turkey again................

will you post some pics?

99% of my posts are ironic. Maybe this post sides with the other 1%.

not summer yet, but

Your summer house?

Where is it?

no lol just a holiday rental we went to once

It's much cheaper to drive 2 hours north of here and get a big house with a pool for a week than fly to Fiji to stay in a tiny house with a pool for a week nuts

I'm the mistake you wanna make

Unfortunately I haven't seen a great deal of Turkey even though this will be our fourth visit. While our children are young, most of our holidays are hotel-based. They love the pools, slides and kids entertainment and my husband and I just like to kick-back and relax.

We have been to a few towns dotted around the hotels we've stayed in previously - around Antalya. This year we'll take a day trip to Side. But we'll save all the proper sight-seeing for when the children are old enough to appreciate it.

I told the kids that we'd go to Myrtle Beach this year.

My vacation is 2 1/2 weeks away, and I haven't reserved a room.

The affordable ones are all booked.

sigh

fishslap

Did the kids have ideas about other places they would love to visit?

What kind of things do they love to do? What makes them happy?

Can you find something that suits their idea of having fun and that is affordable for you?

Can you go camping with them? I really loved that when I was a kid. I experienced that as a great adventure, eventhoug it was close to my home.

Did you miss my camping photowhoring??? fishslap

We've gone camping twice and had fun. In August we're going again, this time I'm going to look for a place in upstate New York.

Myrtle Beach is what they REALLY, REALLY want. For 4 years straight the ex & I took them to Virginia Beach/Myrtle Beach. Last 2 years we didn't for obvious reasons.

Well...it's complicated...but I finally booked my vacation. woot!

It's a big family thing. Me & my kids, my brother & his kids + my parents.

We've never done one together like this, and I figured (even though we're all a little tight on cash) it's NOW or NEVER. My oldest niece is going to college, my parents are getting older, and right now neither my brother nor myself are in committed relationships. It's THE perfect time to do this.

So we're driving down in less than 2 weeks.

sun

Please pray for good weather for me!!!! beg

I've just come back from a holiday to Mount Desert Island in Maine, and before that I was at Sonar Festival in Barcelona.

In a week, I'm going to Montpellier and Nîmes in France, and maybe in September I'll go to the Côte d'Azur.

In February I went to San Francisco, Los Angeles and New York. In March I went skiing where today 6 people were killed in an avalanche, and then I stayed in Lyon for an extra week just 'cause.

I've taken a lot of holidays this year.

Unemployment can be a blessing sometimes smile

No holiday this summer for me, but that's ok. I just finished shooting a music video (which was intense but a lot of fun) and now I'm busy preparing for my move to Vancouver so there's no risk of boredom.

The next time I go on holiday it'll probably be to South America. It's been on my list for a long time.

Thanks for showing interest. smile

It's a video for this song:

It's by the upstart band Wildebeest and as you can hear it has a cool raspy Garbage-like sound. Nine Inch Nails' sound engineer did the mixing and I think you can hear that too. Personally I like it a lot and felt honoured to be approached to do the video. It was totally zero budget and since we couldn't afford professional light, many of the shots look dark and grainy but hopefully cool anyway. Around 15 or so extras were involved and they did a great job despite long hours and no pay.

That's because the video isn't finished yet. We just wrapped the shoot, which means it still has to be edited before there's anything I can show. I just posted the link in case you were curious about the song. Glad you like it!
