Shocking Movies You Saw Way Too Young Talking about Irena Cara in another thread, I remembered her audition scene from Fame, and how it was a very un-sexy nude scene, and how I really did not understand what was going on.
My parents were not terribly careful about what they let us see.
My mom took us to see The Shining when I was 8. One of the most terrifying and bizarre movies of all time. I have never enjoyed being alone in hotel hallways

Now this one...fucking a. Caught this on cable TV (anyone in LA remember the "Z" Channel?). This movie is all tits and cock-measuring and homosexual gang-bangs rapes and blow jobs. It was so fascinating I read the subtitles, and I was probably about 7.

Man, this trailer takes me back. See if you can guess what the name of the movie is. Hey, it turns out it has Rutger Hauer in it!!

I saw that one in the theater. I did think that was pretty crazy. I think I was less scared than fascinated by how gross it was. My Legacy

I don't think I will ever forgive my mom for taking us to the Shining. She read the book, too! Fucking rotting nude grandma and hacked-to-pieces little girls. And a dad who somewhat resembles my own angry dad gradually going insane and hunting a little boy named Danny (my brother Danny particularly liked this aspect)
I actually never wanted to see it again until about a year ago (I am 40). And I love Kubrick and Nicholson is my favorite actor
We all slept in my mom's room that night (I think maybe my dad was out of town, or that would have been even scarier) My Legacy

The Evil Dead and Cujo were the movies that scarred my little mind when my neighbor let me watch them on the VCR ( younger than XL, look it up ), Scarface, not so much. Jeux Sans Frontiers

My parents were very strict about letting me see Restricted-rated films when I was a kid. So many of the significant horror/thriller movies from the late 70s/early 80s, I still have not seen to this day like The Shining, Alien, or even Jaws (which was not R-rated, but still not appropriate for a six-year-old).
One movie I did watch on TV one summer afternoon at the babysitters house was The Flesh Eaters (1964). I found it to be partucularly horrific and still have some scenes burned in my memory even though I haven't seen it since. However, I'm sure if I were to watch it again now, I'd think it was just very silly.

I was happy that I was able to see such "filthy" movies @ a young age. It made me far less naive. I knew about things most kids were easy to fall for... الحيوان النادلة ((((|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|̲̅̅=̲̅̅|̲̅̅●̲̅̅|)))) ...AND THAT'S THE WAY THE "TITTY" MILKS IT!

I never saw anything that wasn't age appropriate. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Cerebus saw a lot of things that weren't age appropriate, but there is only one movie Cerebus has ever seen that TOTALLY freaked him out... and he definitely saw this one too young.
The scene where the women gives birth to a full-grown man. Ugh. Still hate that mess.
Edit: Stupid typos.

I saw The Vampire Killers when I was a kid, they let me watch it with them and I couldn't sleep without a light on for years.

But he's just going mental. Those vampire movies are scarier. I thought one is gonna come to me when I was sleepin, so I had to leave lights on 25 hours in my room. Prince I will always miss and love U.

hmmmm yes any horror movie with a kid in it is not good for a kid to watch, but most horror movies have the same story with a kid being eaten alive. Prince I will always miss and love U.

That's way more believable, and more scary. I thought my own dad would start chasing me with an axe! My Legacy

I hate kids. There are no kids involved with the scene that freaked me out. A FULLY GROWN MAN crawls out of an already messed up pregnant woman's vagina.
By today's standards it's pretty tame, and it wouldn't bother me if I saw it now. Now I would be like, "Oh, it's just a movie!" But at 12, it was hard core.
Warning: This scene is gross. If you're sensetive to such things it's not pretty. If you don't like horror, don't watch it.

I did! That's another one that I can't believe my mom let me watch. I don't think I was even in school yet. There was one movie I watched where a girl was humping her giant teddy bear. I can't remember the name of it though.
Most of my friend's parents were strict. I had one friend that couldn't watch Dirty Dancing when she was 10 years old. Her mom's head would explode if she knew the kind of smut we watched at my house. Shake it til ya make it
