Grandmom Bullied by pre-tees on Bus This is really shocking to me for some reason.
I think it's because here in Thailand you would NEVER find a teen or any young person ever...I mean EEEEEVVVVVEEEERRRRRR talking even the least bit disrespectful to an elderly person.

Apparently, folks are so outraged they that 203k has been raised off private donations on the Internet to help her retire.
That's a bandaide to this specific problem, but I think that society in general in the USA really needs to look in the mirror.
Peole bullying homosexuals...teachers picking on mentally disabled....Elderly being abused.

I've been a regular user of public transportation (bus, train and ferry) in the Bay Area for a very long time. For several years I was either riding two buses each way (four buses a day), one bus each way to a train (four different vehicles), or one bus each way to the ferry (four different vehicles). I gotta tell ya, people are messed up. At the beginning I felt like it was my place to say something when there were kids, or even adults, acting way out of line (not just being loud or obnoxious). But after the third or fourth time I had a woman try to fight me and the second time I saw a gun I just decided, "fuck it! not worth it!"
Now, in this particular situation there is no doubt I would have stepped in. But there are not a lot of other things I'd give a fuck about any more. Outright sexual assult would still make me want to throw a fucker out the back doors. But in general, nah. The drivers don't care. The other people riding with you don't care. They all turn their heads and pretend nothing is happening. It's definitely a sad reflection of where we stand as a society.

Saw it on the news this morning. It was terrible, had her in tears. Their bus monitor, and then posting it on youtube to laugh about it. This is the next generation.

No, grandmothers are assholes that smell like fresh baked cookies. Except for my mom. She smells like fresh cut grass. I'm sick and tired of the Prince fans being sick and tired of the Prince fans that are sick and tired!

Even in the US it was unheard to disrespect an elder when I was growing up...home training.
I saw this on the news when I got home and it made me so mad! Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

Doxed on 4chins, pizzas and repair men sent to the kids' homes. General abuse given to them. Justice.
Reedit got a wind of it shortly thereafter and more shinannegans, but also a "give the gramma a vacation" donation drive started. THE LAST I SAW DONATIONS WERE OVER $100,000!!!
Media picked up the story, and now my Facebook is assaulted by shares and likes and comments.
It's all in the greater good, so nothing of value was lost. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
Still it's nice to know, when our bodies wear out, we can get another -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-

But this is only for one person. What does this say about all the others who are enduring this kind of treatment? They're not getting $100,000 behind kids who hold nothing "sacred".

There's a good reason folks are reluctant to get involved - they don't want to get stabbed or shot. You don't know what the other person is capable of. With all these freaks riding the NYC transportation system, I'm not risking my life for a stranger.
