Indigo children is a term used to describe children who are believed to possess special, unusual and sometimes supernatural traits or abilities. The term is pseudoscientific. [2] The idea is based on New Age concepts developed in the 1970s by Nancy Ann Tappe and further developed by Jan Tober and Lee Carroll. The concept of indigo children gained popular interest with the publication of a series of books in the late 1990s and the release of several films in the following decade. A variety of books, conferences and related materials have been created surrounding belief in the idea of indigo children and their nature and abilities. The interpretations of these beliefs range from their being the next stage in human evolution, in some cases possessing paranormal abilities such as telepathy, to the belief that they are more empathetic and creative than their peers.

Although no scientific studies give credibility to the existence of indigo children or their traits, the phenomenon appeals to some parents whose children have been diagnosed with learning disabilities and to parents seeking to believe that their children are special. Skeptics view this as a way for parents to avoid proper (and generally pharmaceutical) pediatric treatment or a psychiatric diagnosis. The list of traits used to describe the children has also been criticized for being vague enough to be applied to almost anyone, a form of the Forer effect. The phenomenon has been criticized as a means of making money from credulous parents through the sales of related products and services.

Well when I really think about the fact that the earth rotates, and revolves around the sun and that the solar system rotates and that the part of the galaxy it's in rotates and that the galaxy rotates. I get kind of dizzy sometimes. That's an awful lot of spinning.

I was once really high and I was lying on the ground looking at the stars. I was certain I could feel the earth spinning until I realized I was just lying on a slope and that was really what I felt lol

I used to feel the earth flying through space... but then I got fat and lost that "light" feeling.

Now I just feel the earth's gravitational pull.

er

I get ya Flyorra & know what u mean. I guess u must have been very quiet & still within urself 2 feel this. At our core we are infinite energy, pure love & light. We are of the universe, made by the father of the universe, all part of the same life force of the earth.

Yesterday my mum told me how she & her pal Yvonne were in a country park a walk & they were chatting about different types of trees. My mum saw an Aspen & it reminded her of a poem she read as a child at school, The Lady of Shalott. In it he describes how this tree moves with the breeze, it quivers.

"Willows whiten, aspens quiver, Little breezes dusk and shiver
Through the wave that runs for ever
By the island in the river
Flowing down to Camelot."

Anyways, my mum said it took her all her life to notice that these leaves hang on a stalk & do quiver, like they are dancing on the wind. So she's telling Yvonne all this & as the turn to go, out of nowhere & without a gust anywhere, this whole tree, about 50ft tall, starts to move & gently shake. They couldn't believe how every leaf on this Aspen was quivering & well, dancing!! They were speechless!! But as I said to them when they came to mine for a coffee afterwards, the tree was probably listening & feeling her energy. It was displaying it's splendour in thanks! Well to me this makes sense, as all living things have this beautiful light of life flowing through them. Sometimes I can feel my spirit rise & become a part of the wind, soaring & moving through the trees- & I can tell u it is pure ecstacy!!! biggrin

Sorry to babble so much, but I do understand u Flyorra! hug

That's true.

If we could feel the Earth move we'd be thrown off it's surface. The Earth's movement and gravitational force are constant, which makes it's movement imperceptable.

I do understand the concept of "feeling the Earth move", though. I've had it. But in reality, that's not what that feeling is.

Now, "seeing" it move is something different. You can see clouds and star move overhead, and the sun moves across the sky. All of those are of course at least partially do to the fact that the Earth is spinning. But that's a visual thing, not a tactile sensation.

Yes, the earth is not moving at all, relative to us, it's moving relative to the sun, moon, and stars.

The earth is moving & spinning at a constant rate, so we are essentially flying through space right along with it with the same inertia.

Sort of like being on a plane, you mostly feel changes in speed & altitude. That is why you can walk around, even though it's going 500 mph.

Exactly like that (smart guy lol ). I was actually going to use that as an example if the conversation went any further. If the Earth was to suddenly spin faster or slow down drastically, every person on Earth would get the g-force push/pull you get when an airplane takes off or lands. But when you're in flight at a constant speed, you don't feel it all.
