iPhone or Droid?

My company just ditched the Blackberry in favor of Droids. (Long story...Sprint pissed off the Comptroller)

So I am now getting used to that stupid little green guy. lol

I was really hoping they'd get us iPhones (rumors were swirling about that) but in the end I got a Pantech smartphone.

shrug

Beggars can't be choosing and I am just glad that I don't have to pay for a cell.

BUT...based on how much I loved my iPod...I still wish we'd gotten iPhones.

hrmph

Anyone out there ever had both?

Are they really such a big deal?

Am I missing out on something?

WHICH DO YOU PREFER question

I haven't downloaded any music onto my new phone yet.

However, based on my limited use with my iPod, I did find iTunes a little bit of a bitch to work with.

I was never so happy to get rid of a phone as I was when I dumped my Droid. That thing sucked - and I even got a Verizon rep to admit as much when I bought my iPhone.

I played around with the iPhones and iPads at the Apple store recently, and yeah they look much easier to use than the thing I have right now.

Easy to use. I remember before I got the iPhone, I was team Blackberry and kept hearing people say how difficult iTunes was and yadda yadda yadda. Not true. When I got the iPhone, I was wondering why I hadn't gotten one sooner. The iPhone is just way too easy and way too convenient to use. nod Trust me. I have about 600+ songs on my phone and can play them through the radio in my car as well. So I'm loving it. The camera is THE BEST camera I have ever had on a phone. When the new iPhone 5 comes out, I'll be definitely purchasing that. nod

I will forever love and miss you...my sweet Prince.

My personal phone is an android and I'm happy with it. Work uses iPhones and I get mine in a few weeks. I've only ever played with my bf's iPhone but I liked it as well.

I am a "mac head", in fact, I own to macs. That being said, I have a Droid and I love it. It's cheaper than an Iphone, has flash,(which the Iphone does not have) and I do pretty much the same on it, as I would be able to do, on an Iphone. I am due for an upgrade on my Droid, in July and I am getting the HTC S1. Can't wait.

I had an HTC Evo that I loved at first but with every update the Droid got slower and slower.

My iPhone was two hundred dollars cheaper than my Evo was.

See that's the thing. I never download, every update. I just dowload the one's that have to do with the system itself. As for the price, since I am due for an upgrade, I wll be getting my phone for $200 cheaper.

Droid definitly.

Bigger screen, lower price, removable battery, external micro sd.

As well, better design, honestly, I m tired of these apple soap bar...

I love my droid, my friends are sending me mp3 directly to my gmail, and I can download and listen in 2 clicks.

I can not stand this snobish apple mind... And it is too expensive for what it is, honestly.

Android ftw. The Samsung Galaxy S2 shits all over the iPhone 4S, and I'm drooling over the Galaxy S3 which was released today.... it is beautiful.

Android is a far better operating system than iOS. Apple is about restriction - a dictatorship. Unless you jailbreak an iOS device, you are limited in what you can do.

With Android, you have choice. A choice of devices, form factors, price ranges, sizes etc. Phones with landscape keyboards, phones with portrait keyboards, phones that are touch screen only.

Apple have been playing catch-up for at least 18 months now, and there's still things missing on the iPhone that Android has had for YEARS.

I'm going to give the Android some time. Play with it & customize it (or at least as much as my company will allow).

Then I can decide if I even NEED a personal phone before contemplating spending $$$ on an iPhone just because I WANT one.

iPhone here -

love it - way cool.

Also have Mac Book Pro & iPad -

and have Windows 7 PC at home too (just to do the things Apple cant).

but iPhone easy to use - it suits me anyway. I would use no other phone.

itunes have no issues with it - all my things sync with no problems over iPhone/MB Pro/iPad.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

It seems that android has more options out of the box than OSi. Many of the things my droid just does, my friend had to jailbreak his iPhone to be able to do it. It appears this doesn't matter to some.. I get that. I love Apple and there products are wonderful. They all work optimaly when used in tandem with other Apple products and they're usually 'spensive as shit. When one has the budget for that I dont blame them for using it, they're like braids and work wonderfully intertwined with themselves. AppleTV tied to an iPad, coupled w/ an iMac, with an iPhone on top and surrounded by an iCloud...that's scenario is close to nirvana and is as seamless as a floating soap bubble.

I'll be due to get a new phone in a couple of months. I was totally geared up to get an iphone... until I read all the reviews for the Galaxy S3. I think i'll be getting that now instead.

Yeah, you have freedom, all right.

The freedom to have the Android OS on a sucky phone that Google has no interest in or support for since they already got their money from HTC or Samsung or whatever "piece of shit-maker" they sold their OS to.

The freedom to be totally fucked over when Google issues a system update that suddenly makes the OS too big to run properly on the phone you have. But of course, they won't warn you that you're about to be fucked, because that might be perceived as a weakness, in addition to the total we-don't-care-cuz-we-already-got-our-money attitude mentioned earlier.

The freedom to have buggy, piece-of-shit apps that you pay for without recourse when they turn out to be buggy pieces of shit.

The freedom to need app-killer apps because the Google OS likes to launch battery-sucking apps on its own - whether you want them to run or not.

The freedom to need file-finder apps because everything is hidden, and therefore impossible to find, on the damn phone.

Yeah, boy - I really miss all that since I got my iPhone.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.
