I'm a college student, It'll be a decade before I start using checks. lol And I refuse to pay online because it's 20 effin dollars extra.

erm, okay... lol

But don't you have an ATM card for buying stuff? It's all part of a checking account.

I started writing checks when I was 18 specifically for rent. That was a few years ago, though, when checks were more widely used. I used to write a bunch of checks to pay all my bills, but now I pay everything else online and I only write one per month, just for rent. lol

Checks are becoming a little outdated, maybe, but I'd rather do that than have to get a money order. Plus it's free.

Yes I have a debit card that is attatched to my checking account. My point is I don't have any need for checks right now. I'm still 100% depending on my parents. They give give me money every month and that's how I survive. They usually pay my rent in full at the beginning of the semester, but there are times when they don't so they will just put the 600 in account and I'll pay it myself. My apartment complex is so stupid, they don't take cash or personal checks. Only money orders or cashier's checks, but that's student housing for you.

I see, interesting

Well, like I said, it seems like checks are becoming a little outdated, anyway

I have 369,000 Indonesian Rupiah (about 40 Australian dollars) that I haven't bothered to get changed and another $76.60 in Australian currency. I usually have between $50 and a $100. Even though I usually pay with cards, I just prefer to have some cash on me shrug

20-60€. I have a credit card now, but I've never used it. I think paying with cash is the right thing to do under current conditions in any case. I like to keep my bank account nearly empty all the time, because I just dislike how banks operate in general (I am not paranoid, I swear).

On a few occasions I've carried around several thousand euros on my wallet, because I've had to buy something more expensive. I have to say that doesn't make me feel too comfortable either.

Actually, this makes me wonder how everyone else is paying rent. Still using checks? Or is there a new way?

My mortgage is held by my credit union. So I just do a funds transfer to make a payment.

But I would be surprised if the landlord couldn't do an ACH - which is an automated payment where they just pull it from your account on a certain date. That's how I do my condo fees - it's a pain to write a check and mail it every month.

We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

When I was paying a mortgage it was done through my bank's online payment, I was not writing checks.

I should ask my landlord and see what the kids are doing these days.

At then moment I have about $2 in my purse - LOL -

I am sooooo bad at not carrying cash - I Eftpos (debit card) everything.

Sometimes I can have up to $20 in my wallet but that is usually because my daughter gets fed up with me not having cash and forces me to get $20 out on payday.

I used to carry money - but just find it easier (and lighter on the handbag) to carry just my cards.

Thank you Prince for every note you left behind 💜

There used to be this hot babe named Bo Derek. She was pretty much the best thing going on two legs for several years.

Her husband was John Derek. This dude was an actor that never made it big, but did just fine for himself. He is probably the coolest dude that no one has ever heard of. Just being married to Bo Derek automatically puts him on the Top 10 Coolest Dudes Ever, but you should check out who he was with before he hooked Bo Derek.

However, the thing that vaults him into the Top 5 Coolest Dudes Ever was the fact that he NEVER EVER carried a single dime on him.

He was so well known in Hollywood and Los Angeles that he could go where ever he wanted, buy stuff, and then tell the store to send him a bill. They always did, and he always paid.

You've got to have out-of-this-world coolness to be able to walk into any store in your city and be able to say, "Put it on my tab".

That's what I do. Mortgage and condo association are through my bank's online bill pay service. All other bills are paid online.

I haven't written a check in I don't even know how long. I'm not sure I even know where my checkbook is. I DO know the address on my checks is about 3 years old. lol

When I'm in Seattle I carry maybe $20. I'm in Chicago now and won't carry a cent on me. I've been robbed here before. Never use checks. Only a card. Pay all bills online.

Although it sucked when I was in Chinatown the other day and three stores only accepted cash. ATM fees suck. mad
