The main complaint that I've heard is that the episode bounced around.

I don't like that either and I will say that there are a couple of storylines that I just really don't care about, but I watch the episodes more than once and always find something that makes me laugh or flinch or something.

First episodes tend to do that. nod

They try to refresh your memory, and catch up people who are just tuning in with as much crap as possible...

(Sorry, John! I wasn't sure if you were just getting HBO. boxed)

  • I have to be honest: I was kind of hoping that we were done with "Angry Tara"- cussing and smoking all the time, hating everything and everyone. Now we have "Angry Vamp Tara". rolleyes
  • Also, is it just me, or do any of you find it damn near impossible for Lafayette to have shaved off those thick braids with Sookie's little plastic leg razor? Were there some scissors nearby to cut that matte down first? confused giggle

I was hoping Tara would be a ghost.

I'm thinking Tara will end up being a twist of the "Bubba" character from the books. Both Tara and Bubba were heavily damaged physically when they were turned, so that's where they are similar. I think that they'll be different in that "Bubba" was not a "complete" vampire. He was a little slow witted, he preferred cat blood, he could enter a human household without being invited etc. In Tara's case, I think she'll be more feral.

I'm firmly planted in denial

True Blood' Casting News: 'Terminator 2' Actor Will Play Alcide's Dad

Andy Neuenschwander June 15, 2012 @ 2:46 pm PST

True Blood - 'True Blood' Casting News: 'Terminator 2' Actor Will Play Alcide's Dad On "True Blood," Joe Manganiello plays Alcide Herveaux, a tough werewolf. But the actor who was just cast to play Alcide's father is probably best known as a puddle of homocidal metal.

Robert Patrick has joined the cast of "True Blood" season five in the role of Alcide's dad, Jackson Herveaux. Patrick has had a long career with movie and TV credits that include "Flags of Our Fathers" and "The Unit," but you might know him best as the T-1000, the shape-shifting evil Terminator from "Terminator 2: Judgment Day."

According to THR, Jackson Herveaux will first appear in a flashback that features a young Alcide. He has a debt to repay to Eric Northman through his father, which also explains why Alcide lent a hand in helping Sookie in the first place.

Patrick will make his appearance in season 5, episode 9, which is set to air on August 5. So there's a little bit of advance knowledge on Alcide's dealings later in the season!

  • Okay, I have to say it... I don't like Tara. I got tired of her angry rants last season, and last night I got so annoyed with her "undead temper tantrum". rolleyes
  • Pam cracks me up! ("I was underground. What's your excuse?") ohgoon
  • The little girl was the cutest little wolf! mushy

My friends and I were actually happy to see tara "die" last season.

Now this "crazy vamp" shit is stupid.

Pam is hot.
