was hanging out with b.b. king last night after his concert in greenville... i really hope that i didn't pass my virus along to him...

as we were leaving, we spotted his buses, so me and will wanted our pictures taken standing next to his bus...

then we saw some people standing around the backstage entrance door, so we went over... everyone was waiting for him to come out and sign autographs, although we weren't sure that he would because it was freezing cold out there...

so, we waited for about 45 minutes and were about to leave (most people had already left at this point... i think there were just 10 people out there)... and then this guy comes out and tells us to step away from the bus and line up against the wall... this freaked us all out a little bit, but we did it... he counted us all up and went back inside... then he comes back out and says, "b.b. says it's too cold out here... he wants you guys to come inside"... so we went in and he led to us to b.b.'s dressing room... we passed by bobby's room, but he had already left... he was in a bad mood, because the sound guy had pissed him off...

so, we go into his dressing room, and there he is listening to duke ellington on his portable mp3 player... he said that he had about 3,000 mp3s stored in it and he takes it with him everywhere... i was impressed...

before his management let us go inside, he made us promise that we would be brief with him, and not ask for more than one autograph... he said that b.b. will stay there all night hanging out and signing stuff if they let him, but it's really important that they get him back to the motel because he needed to rest up for the next day's gig...

so, we hung out for about 15 minutes with him... he is the nicest guy... he greets everyone with "so, how have you been doing?" as if he knows you... and it takes all of the nervousness away and makes you feel like he's an old friend...

when we bought the tickets, my wife told me that she wouldn't be able to go because of her teaching schedule, but as the concert got closer, she started wishing that she would have just gone anyway, and was really depressed by it...

i told her that i'd bring her something back... imagine her surprise when i brought her back a picture that was signed "to amanda, love b.b. king"...

he also told me to tell her that he was sorry that she couldn't make it, but he hoped to see her next time around... :LOL:... he makes everything sound like he's known you forever...

it was terrific... but now, i am a little paranoid about passing my germs along to him... i guess we'll find out... :LOL:

But when I don't have the flu? Well, I hardly every drink alcohol-- I've never been drunk, can you believe it?--, but when I do it's usually wine (Port or Riesling, and no gas-station-esque crap either) or a Lemon Drop (vodka with crushed lemon and sugar). I like the super fruity drinks, fuzzy navels and whatnot, but I'm just as happy drinking them without the booze.
