TLANTA (AP) — Megachurch pastor and televangelist Creflo Dollar was arrested early Friday after authorities say he slightly hurt his 15-year-old daughter in a fight at his metro Atlanta home. Fayette County Sheriff's deputies responded to a call of domestic violence at the home in unincorporated Fayette County around 1 a.m., Investigator Brent Rowan said. The 50-year-old pastor and his daughter were arguing over whether she could go to a party when Dollar "got physical" with her, leaving her with "superficial injuries," Rowan said. Dollar faces misdemeanor charges of simple battery and cruelty to children. He bonded out of Fayette County jail Friday morning. "As a father I love my children and I always have their best interest at heart at all times, and I would never use my hand to ever cause bodily harm to my children," Dollar said in a statement released by his lawyer Nikki Bonner. "The facts in this case will be handled privately to further protect my children. My family thanks you for your prayers and continued support." Dollar will make no further comments since he's involved in an ongoing criminal matter, but he is expected to preach Sunday, Bonner said. Dollar leads Creflo Dollar Ministries and is the pastor for World Changers Church International in College Park, which serves nearly 30,000 members, according to the church's website. World Changers Church-New York hosts over 6,000 worshippers each week, the website says. There are also four satellite churches in Georgia and others in Los Angeles, Indianapolis, Washington, Cleveland, Dallas and Houston. He and his wife Taffi, a co-pastor at the church, have five children, according to the website. Known for his pinstriped suits and charismatic sermons, Dollar was among a group of high-profile ministers whom Iowa Sen. Charles Grassley urged in 2007 to answer questions about their spending, board oversight and involvement in for-profit businesses. The six televangelists targeted in the investigation preach some form of the prosperity gospel, which teaches that God wants to bless the faithful with earthly riches. Ministers in this tradition often hold up their own wealth as evidence that the teaching works. Dollar resisted answering questions, comparing Grassley's inquiries into church governance with questioning churchgoers about their prayers and confessions. The investigation wrapped up in January 2011 with no penalties for the pastors who refused to cooperate and no definitive findings of wrongdoing.

What the hell does "slightly hurting" mean?

It's along the same lines of how, Mariah described Nick's kidney failure, as "mild". Take it from someone who suffers from kidney disease, there isn't anything MILD about it.... "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

I don't believe the "slightly hurting" b.s. gotta be some serious hitting if you get charged with battery. That's all I'm saying. He ain't shit either conning folks with his schemes just so folks can come to his church.

I don't know anything about this guy. If an argument broke out between my daugher and I and told her she couldn't go to a party and she insisted, that would be her ass. Call the police, you've just become a Ward of The State. Please. I swear these days and the dumb ass society we live in. =====================

He's a con pastor. And his daughter is probably a bad kid judging on the fact this girl was determined to go to some party.

The very fact that his name is Creflo Dollar is enough for me. WTF kinda name is that? "Lack of home training crosses all boundaries."

Con man are not, he's a parent. If that's what the argument was about I'm not sure why the _ _ _ _ the police are invovled. Is she bad? Probably not... just being a rebellious 15 year old but as a parent you handle it. If she called the police she'd regret it.

it means she said some shit and got day ass whooped which gives off a red glow to dat ass and surroundin areas
but today i supose you have to let yo kid say whutevahdafuck they want while livin in yo house and eatin yo food and usin yo money...
now if instead he chose to put her out of his house, THAT woud be a whole different charge and shows a lack of love in parentin. SO, whut is a parent to do??? send her ass to juvenile so she can learn to be a REAL CRIMMINAL i am KING BAD!!!
you are NOT... STOP ME IF YOU HEARD THIS BEFORE...

Don't they do that on Maury?
Who called on his ass though? His daughter?

need you ask???
don't they start tellin yo kids in PRE SCHOOL to call 911 when you bein ABUSED at home? (abused; a be oozd: when a parent whoops, or threatens to whoop yo ass when you deside to act out like you ain't got good sense...) or her punk ass momma or friends.
one day my ex and i were havin a 'heated discussion' and she hit me in the chest a couple of times. on one of the hits she barely scratched me (just enough to cause a welt) on my chin and the police wanted to arrest her (shut her right the fuck up...) anyway, she may have had friends at the house givin her the nuts to act out. i am KING BAD!!!

I'm not into a whole lot of handwringing about kids who have to face consequences because of their actions. Oh well. The biggest bullshit line I've heard during the latter 20th century is, unconditional love. You can divorce a child just like you can divorce a man. Some children think parents have to take or put up with their foolishness no matter what... I'm not that type of a mother.

Well I didn't want it to be seen that obvious but yeah...

My take on this.....
Maybe this Pastor Dollar and his wife are REALLY busy all the time, so busy in fact that they aren't really present as parents and their kids pretty much are left to their own devices.
Now, these independant young daughters of his are a bit on the 'grown' side because these girls were allowed to do too much too soon on their own.
Now dad wants to wrangle them in and set boundaries all the sudden and these daughters are NOT having it.
Frustrated dad loses his temper because daughters are outta control... and its his own damn fault that he raised kids that think they should be allowed all freedom because they virtually raised themselves.
This is what happens when kids raise themselves. No surprise and a common thing with the children of too busy parents that leave their kids on their own and with other people too much.

That's what I was thinking...

I feel you.
I am not one of those mothers that dumps their kids on aunty/grandma/neighbor/mailman/stanger up stairs....
all the time just to "be free" to do what I need to do, then magically expect a kid to listen to me all the sudden when the child maybe spends one day a week with me because I am too b usy doing me.
Bitches are outta their minds when they dump their kids too much on others and expect kids to be well behaved and easy-going when they become teens. Pssh, that recipe is one for disaster on repeat.
ESPECIALLY with girls.... shit if a girl learns to cook her own food, and handle all her own needs by age 8, then what the hell she gotta listen to her momma for? DUH!
My sister did that mess, making her daughter all independant way too soon and making take babygirl care of her younger siblings, now that same child is a college dropout single mother stipper. Great JOB sis!!!
Don't have kids if you expect other people to raise them for you.

Exactly... the name says much about who he is as a man... and sadly some folks I know attend his church. He actually changed his name too.

From what I understand, he was actually named after his father....Creflo Augustus Dollar, senior. "Love is like peeing in your pants, everyone sees it but only you feel its warmth"

Oh! The last name is legit??!!
Wow...
I thought I read somewhere "Dollar" was a name change, its good to know its a given name.

They were discussing this on the radio on my way home from work. It was said that she hit him first and that's why brother Creflo got in that ass. Don't laugh at my funk

I sure as hell had my ass handed to me a few times whenever i got out of line with my mother. I even remember getting into a debate here before over the same topic. It's fine if some don't believe in displining their kids with a belt or taking away some of their privileges with a hard line stance but if you're living under my roof there are rules to abide by and if you don't want to you can go live somewhere else. Don't laugh at my funk

I shouldn't be laughing...
"The daughter says the argument got physical. She told the deputies that her father charged her, put his hands around her throat and began to choke her, according to a police report. She said he then slammed her to the ground, punched her and beat her with his shoe.

These folks exploit an already fale-safe religion, which forbids doubt and scrutiny, and add an extra layer of justification for their exesses.
And now, they totally beat their bratty children!!
Folks, they're geniuses.
