Businessman buys most expensive car ever sold: $35million
Businessman buys most expensive car ever soldThe Atlanta Journal-Constitution Most people buy used cars to save some money.
Special The 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO once owned by British racer Stirling Moss was sold to U.S. businessman Craig McCaw for a record $35 million.
Not Craig McCaw. The former cellular tycoon just picked up a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO for $35 million, according to Bloomberg News. It's believed to be the most expensive car sale ever. The apple green Ferrari was one of only 39 produced by the Italian sports car manufacturer between 1962 and 1964. What makes it even more valuable is the man who once owned it: the legendary British race car driver Sir Stirling Moss. Bloomberg said the sale is listed among May's high-end sales at anamera.com, a website for classic car dealers. The car was sold by the Dutch businessman Eric Heerema, owner of the Nyetimber vineyard in England, Bloomberg said. McCaw is a classic car collector and the co-founder of McCaw Cellular, which was acquired by AT&T in the early '90s for $11.5 billion.

I was going to say something crass about spending so much money on one piece of collectible crap...but then again look at how much PAINTINGS sell for!
At least a car takes you places. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

this transaction is, imo clear evidence that people who have tons of money go slightly mad and lose their sense of perspective. i get that it's a cool car. i get it's one of a kind.... but still 35 mil? it's like those ugly $100,000 handbags there was such a fuss over. i'd be ashamed to walk around with one of those, for so many reasons.
i guess i just don't get rich folk. in a way, hope i never do
